Something not right?

Description

The north-south highway is partly extremely muddy. At least in rainy season. With a bike you can usually go around the big holes, but with cars... Better bring a good 4X4 with a winch and shovels and everything, there are not many cars on the road to help you out. Coming from the north, it seems alright first but be aware, it gets worse.
There also was a broken down bridge. With bikes and smaller cars you can use a little wooden bridge. Big rigs propably have to turn around here. I don't have the exact position but it was quite a bit north of the national park entrance.

Latest Check-Ins

We did this 284km piste with a defender 110, in june so beginning of the rainy season, for 4 days (3nights), the piste is in bad condition but nothing extreme except a broken bridge with huge amount of mud where trucks get stuck but it was fine for us
The end of the pist which was bad was flattened. They intend to taar it for 2025

We recommend it, you go close to the national park of tai that you can visit to see monkeys and Chimpanze,
Locals are really friendly on this road
Its a good occasion to learn about hévéa, cacao and palm oil plantations as they are all along the road

Report Check-In

just drove this road and the road is fine (dry season) last 40km to the coast bit slow and bumpy but still easy with a 4x4

Report Check-In

We did it in 5 hours between Djiroutou (where you have to take another road if you want to visit the chimpanzees) and Tabou. Even in the dry season there were ponds as wide as the road and the Land Cruiser 4x4 was welcome. Lots of trucks blocked on the road, thankfully none blocking it completely. We had a tight squeeze next to a stuck tractor.

Some parts have been repaired and they were working on improving the road, but still definitely not doable with a normal car even in the dry season. If on bike get ready for some mud.

Report Check-In

Still muddy in parts, but we passed with no trouble in a Land Cruiser at the start of rainy season. Had to make a diversion through a palm plantation just before Anamoué as a truck was blocking the road and 20 more were queued up behind it! Small bridge north of the national park entrance not suitable for big rigs, but a diversion could be possible. Pictures included of the worst.

Report Check-In

Not passable with cars if wet. 6km south of tai there were lots of trucks stuck for days.

Bikes can get around. But its tough. Muddy.
