Description

Lots of sites along the paved road with markers designating them as camping areas. Large picnic area with toilets about a mile towards the main road. Couldn't find horse creek CG (must have been down a dirt road) and this area is before you reach big meadow CG.

Latest Check-Ins

Access to the dispersed camping site is currently close due to ice. We stayed at the Big Meadows Winter trailhead for the night. Very quite with just one other vehicle.

Great dispersed camping between Kings Canyon & Sequoia NPs. Several spots along this road have markers designating them as campsites. The road is paved and more traffic than I expected. Spots fill up on weekends but mostly open during the week. I had Verizon here, but lost it shortly beyond this spot. No TMobile.

Multiple sites and turnouts along this road. Had difficulty finding the established campgrounds and getting to some of the other nearby sites marked on here in my sedan. Roads were rough and difficult to navigate at night so YMMV. One fairly reliable bar Verizon 4G/5G. As you continue down this road service goes out.

Good number of designated and some non designated sites along a paved FS road. Easy access and seems to be a variety of sized rigs from cars to TT. The gate just opened a couple days ago and filling up fast for the holiday weekend. Most spots seem to have a rock fire ring but you need a free permit and need to make sure no ban. I'm right on the edge of having Verizon LTE, I was further back in and lost the signal. Data slow but usable. Yours to enjoy protect and keep clean.

Spot along Forest Road 14S11 dirt road offshoot on the right just past the picnic area. Many spots up here on dirt road but none with official brown campsite post like along the paved forest road. Verizon is frustratingly weak up here. AT&T nonexistent. But weather is lovely and there are big trees, birds, ants, and chirping squirrels.

Really nice place to stay ! You have different spot all over the road. You will see some little camping sign. Some of the spot are bigger than others. Near the entrance of Sequoia Park (30 minutes from General Sherman) easy to access and for free !
