Visa Cameroon I know that many travelers are wondering whether or not to put their Cameroon e-visa on their passport at the embassy. Is this necessary? I would advise yes. I am currently in Congo and I got my e-visa online. I preferred to go to the Congolese embassy in Brazzaville to ask them the question. They scanned my e-visa then took my fingerprints then took my photo then put my Cameroon visa on my passport. They told me it was necessary to validate the visa. And the problem is that when arriving in Cameroon by road, in the south of the country, they do not have the necessary equipment to scan my e-visa or take my fingerprints/photo. They can apparently only do this at the airport. So I don't know what the other border posts in Cameroon are like but I advise you not to take any risks and to apply for your visa at the embassy. Besides that, they were very nice at the embassy. But beware ! You must be dressed in long pants and a t-shirt that covers the shoulders to be authorized to enter the embassy. I had a tank top and my companion had shorts that went to the knees and we were refused entry for that.

Visa applications are received between 09.00 and 13.00. Better to apply early if you want to receive the visa the next day. I applied at 09.00 and collected at 14.30 the next day.

In addition to documents in the previous posts I was asked for a copy of my entry stamp to Congo.

The Laissez Passer letter is now included with your visa. Process same as previous post.

Ps. The security guard was not happy with my open shoes. I had to show him a picture of my motorcycle boots to explain they were less appropriate, he then let me in.

1 month tourist visa costs XAF80,000. Normally it will take 48 hours to proceed. My case, I went there around noon and collect visa around 14:30 next day. Documents required: Copy of passport photo page and Congo Visa, 2 passport photos and on-site filled application form (French only).

The border with Republic of the Congo is still closed to unessential traveling due to Pandemic, however, the Embassy can issue Laissez Passer Special, which costs XAF 30,000 no matter if you have car or not. It validate 3 months, as same as the tourist visa validation.
