We checked a few campgrounds close to Jasper on a Thursday, Whistler was closed, Wapiti and Wabasso were both fully booked , this is the only place with a few spots available, even on Fri evening, it is first-come first-serve , $24,75 including fire permit and firewood, with drinking water, pit toilet, cooking shelter, large site for our motor home, lots trees and very private , next to the river ! 25 KM from Jasper , a bit far but only 5 km to the Athabaska Water Fall! We loved it here!
Oh, and we just spotted a black bear strolling on the Campground.

cute campground. no host from what I saw. alot of enforcement though, rangers driving by all the time. charged to my visa by filling out a paper slip. very convenient. looots of firewood, though not protected from rain. cute kazebo with wood stove in it. sites aren't very level for sleeping in vehicles, good for tenting I'd say. very private in the later numbered sites, love it.
Report Check-InCame here almost mid of June 2023 around 8 pm and there were still a lot of free Campsites.
It’s a first come, first serve Campground.
Due to a fire ban in effect, the price was reduced to 16.75 CAD , usually it’s about 26 CAD.
A lot of Campsites are not very leveled but I found Campsite #29 where I stand even.
Only for Campers not longer than 7.50 meter long.
Drinking Water available, Toilets too.
Very nice campground. Self check in. They do check regularly. Sites are spacious, wood including price ($26) clean pit toilets. Small little beach at the river with beautiful views on the mountains. Loved it here!!
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed camping here! Firewood is included in the $26. We briefly saw a grizzly bear when we first arrived. The beach area down by the river is really nice, and a great spot to watch the sunset. The sites in the further loop are more private, but the first section of sites are in close proximity to the river. The campground was not full, and it was a Saturday night.
