Very nice place, on the Lake Isabella. Free. No designated spots. Permit is required to make a fire. Rough road towards the water, but enough spots for vans. TMobile had 5g, but thoughput was horrid.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed here all week. It was empty until the weekend. There is a pit toilet and strong Verizon service. Be careful driving across the cattle guard, there is a broken piece of metal on the far left side (going down, right side coming up) and it will pop tires. Also, the lake is rising quickly. I'd recommend giving it ample room.
Report Check-InLake was pretty dry, but still amazing view and quiet place. We were the only van there and had the whole place for our self's.
Report Check-Instayed 3 days. Other than the horde of motorcycles 'riding' the roads, quiet. 42' RV with toad.
Report Check-InJust arrived. Wow, the lake is really far away... Otherwise, pretty quiet. As for not big rig friendly, I'm 42' + toad...
Report Check-InThis is an official recreation site and one of the few places dispersed camping is allowed & free around the lake. (I checked with rangers.)
It’s essentially a wide open space that used to have great lake access, but due to the drought in the past couple years, it’s pretty dry. Still a great place to camp overnight. I felt totally safe with a few other campers and only moved to another spot because I wanted to get in the water.
I had 2-3 bars LTE on Verizon without using a booster, too!
Report Check-InQuiet free place. We stayed over night. We are with 4 other campers.. cows everywhere.. cute. But it was so windy and cold. Tmobile signal is ok. LTE.
Report Check-InUndeveloped camping site. It is a fishing cover and you can launch, though there is no developed boat launch. Camped overnight in my 31ft RV without problem.
Report Check-InPerfectly nice with views. Not much privacy and the road is near. Pit toilets are locked in winter.
Report Check-InLake Isabella is currently dry. Quite a miserable view. Dam repairs are underway. Stay at Kern River, Keysville is close by and also free.
Report Check-InVery nice place, in the lake Isabella. Free, many places.
