Simply fantastic and equipped with everything your heart desires! Nice that we could be here!

Lovely campsite as described below. yes it's more expensive than some but you get what you pay for and it's good to camp somewhere more upmarket now and then. Beach easy access. Ablutions clean and showers hot. Camp quiet. Food tasty. staff friendly . would recommend .

Report Check-In

Place looks very nice. But the price for camping is now 22.500 kw pp. Kids under 10 are for free. Otherwise kids pay half price. We did not stay and drove to Kibala beach Resort.

Report Check-In

Nice place, but expensive.

Report Check-In

Lovely place to stay for a night. Well priced and delicious food for a Lodge of this level. Steak was fantastic. Shaded camp site with easy access for motorcycles. Workshop on premises also. Heinrich the German owner is a nice old guy who can also assist with changing money should you require.

Report Check-In

Actual price is now MK 13.000 pppn
Today there are a lot of small flies around, but may be only a problem of today

Great campsite right on the shore of the lake, with some nice shady trees and lots of green lawn. Ablutions are really nice and clean with one of the best hot showers around. The restaurant is good value for money and we enjoyed the food. The sirloin in particular was delicious.

Report Check-In

An excellent site, with a really nice green put h for a few 4x4s. Excellent ablutions, and a really nice bar / restaurant overlooking the lake. With a stopover for sure.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp right on the lake shore and on grass with a little shade. Electricity points on sites and excellent ladies & gents ablutions. WiFi dongle can be provided at additional usage cost if requested. Friendly owner and staff and an excellent restaurant. This place is hard to fault. The road from Salima in the south is bad in places with numerous potholes.

On the edge of the lake, in a quiet culdesac off the M15, is an oasis with camping, chalets, restaurant and bar. There is no Bilhazia here contrary to an earlier post. Safe to swim, warm tropical water and the lovely sound of the waves on bsandy beach. Paradise after the dusty trip overland to get here.

Report Check-In

Nice camping spot on the grass with a small fence between you and the beach. Ablutions are great, clean, and there are hot showers. The security guard was great and went out his way to make us feel comfortable.

Report Check-In

Loved this place! Long, pristine private beach. Very friendly and helpful staff who obviously take pride in this place (someone was always cleaning). The owners are committed to sustainable tourism and support several programs that benefit the local community. The manager helped us organize a tour of the local town with Kenny - highly recommend, we learned a lot! The restaurant is great and has lots of options. A perfect place to relax.

Report Check-In

Really nice place! The owner and Jamikani from the office helped us a lot as we get stucked at a toll gate.
Totally Recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Awsome camping spot! Nice grass area right on the beach under some shaded trees!

Report Check-In

Great place to stay on gras under trees close to the sandy beach. Very clean ablutions. The restaurant offers a big variety of tasty food and drinks. Big playground for children. Very friendly staff and owners.
More then 50 locals are employed on this lodge and pottery. Other social projects from the owners are in planning. Absolut worth to spend their some nights.

Report Check-In

Great place! The management of the former German overlander running the place is well noticeable. Everything functions and is spotlessly clean. Very nice setting on the large beach. Lake water in this time of very much rain (Feb 2022) is not clear, supposedly it is like that everywhere in these weeks.
Good restaurant with large selection. See photos for details incl prices.
Overall really worth the visit.

Report Check-In

Nice place but if you prefer dark nights, don’t go to this place. They have bright lights as if they have to work the whole night.

Report Check-In

Very nicely located campsite with very clean showers and toilets. The owner with his wife and staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Everything works, the garden is nice and well maintained, the chilling area is shady and cozy. Any time again
Camping 10000 Kwatcha pp.

Report Check-In

Not a good place to swim. The lake water is brown instead of nice clear clean water. I was told 2020 the price is a little bit up Chalet 85 USD , Dorm 20 USD a night. Restaurant

Report Check-In

Price 7,500 kwacha pppn. Camping on grassy side, good ablutions. Can pay with card. Water was brownish because of the river close by, so not really nice to swim.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Development works building a couple of new units near the camp area is nearly completed. Fabulous, clean, spacious showers with hot water. Nicely laid out gardens. Good washup facilities. Quite windy but you are on a lakeside. Restaurant is nice if a little pricey but the food is good. Lovely staff. 10usd pppn. Airtel signal ok at the campsite but not around reception area.

Report Check-In

Camping spots on the grass with big tree. mkw 7200 pp . Key to your own clean ablution.
Has restaurant, wifi you can purchase and chalets.

Report Check-In

Also mixed feelings about this place. The campsite is ugly and $10 for it seems too much. So I decided to stay in the dorms for 15$ which seemed a better deal: very clean, good hot water and impecable sheets.
Internet is not for free, you have to buy a voucher starting at 1500 kwatcha which it too much after paying $15 for a dorm when other cheaper places have it for free.
I didn't go to the restaurant, it was too pricey as well.
In conclusion: nice but expensive place, for only one night as stopover was fine.

Report Check-In

Nice place directly at the beach. Very friendly owner, nice restaurant and fast internet.

Report Check-In

Mixed feelings about this place. The restaurant looks great and the ablutions are too. But lots of construction going on at the moment (low season). Piles of rocks, mess and sand everywhere, also around the campsite. Campsite right now is very sandy, not nice in rainy season.

Report Check-In

Very nice setup. This a complex with a lot of options on stuff to do.
The owner Has a lot of plans for near future, maybe a ferry, some water sports and to add looking at road side assistance for travelers if he can find the right mechanic.

Report Check-In

Well run, clean and welcoming campground and lodge. Camp spots have lovely view of lake, and has beach view. Hot water, good pressure and clean abolition blocks. Great menu and tasty food, with possibly to make your own pottery if you have the time. Overall great experience and beautiful setting.

Report Check-In

Great place. Camping was $10pppn we ate in the restaurant and it was the best food we had eaten in Malawi so far and very reasonably priced. I’ve are to sit by the bar and beach. Ablutions are great and there is a good sized camp kitchen with plenty of hot water.

Report Check-In

nice beach, good restaurant and overall a really nice place. very clean ablutions.
the campsite is not so nice. a lot of construction going on at the moment. only one power socket at the "kitchen".
overpriced in our opinion with MK7200 pppn for camping.

Report Check-In

Great place as written by the other reviewers. Food at restaurant tastes very good. 7.200 Kwacha pppn. VISA cards accepted. Airtel signal is poor to good. Big rigs fit in, but some low branches. Very friendly staff, good security, nice and clean beach. Currently renovating some buildings, so not very quiet on the camping area. Very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Nice place with new, German, management. Campground is small but adequate. US$10 pppn. Good restaurant.

Popped in here for lunch, nice restaurant under the trees, service quick and friendly. Nice private beach, bathrooms clean.

Report Check-In

A lot of renovation going on.

Rooms are 50000 MKW, respectively 60000 for the larger ones. Credit cards accepted and working (usual markup).

Report Check-In

This is great place to stay and we stayed two nights. The camp site is on grass under shady trees and looks out over the beach and lake. It has the best ablutions block we have seen, immaculately clean and showers with good pressure and hot water. Very, very friendly owners and staff which makes it a pleasure to stay. The restaurant had great food and the bar has a great selection of drinks. Security was excellent.

Report Check-In

Nice place, as others have said, but I was not impressed with the restaurant. Limited menu and fairly pricy, so I cooked my own dinner but ordered breakfast. They served me a half-cooked omlette with some cold toast, which cost extra.

Report Check-In

Everything that others said! Very friendly staff. Nice shady but small campsite on the beach $10 pppn. Husband was ill so they gave us a dorm room to ourselves $15 pppn. Facilities are very nice and food is yummy at the restaurant. WiFi want working but they gave us a dongle to borrow - so kind!

Report Check-In

New owner since april 2016. Renovated ablutions, good restaurant, friendly and organized staff. Driveway is repaired, easy access for big truckcamper

Report Check-In

Nice exclusive campground direct at the beachfront. Nice sandy beach. No bilharzia. Peaceful environment. Well maintained ground with nice trees. Very clean ablution block with plenty of hot water. Braistands and kitchen shelter with hot water. Very suitable for large overland groups and overland trucks. Well maintained connecting road (3,5 km from main road) Workshop for car maintenance available. Very good day and night security. Friendly and helpful staff. German resident management. Family athosphere. Pet friendly. Good restaurant. Small bar. DSTV Premium. Live music. We found the prices very fair as they offer a lot. Camping 10 US$ p.p. per night. In addition: extremely nice and spacious rooms.

Report Check-In

Nice location at the beach. Campsite itself is okay, but nothing special, which makes it overpriced at $10 pp. No room for negotiation. Bar and restaurant quite expensive as well. Talked to owner, but she was not very friendly. We stayed at Fish Eagle Bay instead.

Report Check-In

Small campsite between blue gum trees. Nice ablutions. Shelter with lights. Right on the beach. Bar and restaurant.
