Something not right?

Description

Dry camping with some informal fire pits. Easy access to glacier runoff water. Close to highway but rushing creek water drowns out anything else. We have about 24ft and 9.5’ and made it in easy. No facilities. Leave no trace.

This was a beautiful spot to camp! Found it even after dark with the help of some graffiti arrows. Plenty of spots and some had fire rings. Right by the river!

Report Check-In

Such a great spot! Right on the river and quiet with the shoulder season. The road was a tad bumpy but very doable in my Promaster. And close to the road without the noise. Perfect spot close to Rainier.

Arrived on a Thursday afternoon and had my pick of the sites. Wonderful spot right on the river. Stunning river views. Couple other campers showed up during my stay. Road noise is masked by the river.

Full T-Mobile signal and two bars of AT&T. Signal seemed better closer to the road and did very when I wondered through the area. Smaller 4x4 campers have a lot of options with sites to the north and south. Large campers and those with low clearance will be more limited to maybe a dozen spots and will have best luck with the middle entrance.

Report Check-In

A bit bumpy (wouldn’t done it if it was raining, but otherwise ok). Very peaceful place by the river, was really quiet !

Report Check-In

Nice spot for a night. Entrance road can be hard to see after dark. Road was a bit bumpy -wouldn’t have done it without AWD. Saw some meteor shower and tons of stars. Nice creek sounds - burn ban in effect little flags in fire pits. One of my favs so far. Looked clean when I arrived, left no trace. 2bars T-Mobile was able to text, call, stream.

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful! There were a few people there, but everyone kept to themselves and enjoyed the river. There was probably enough room for about 20 cars (close together though). Great and free option for those that don't want to stay at the campgrounds nearby.

Report Check-In

Almost perfection but long timers camping near by and lots of trash everywhere! Along the river, no trash but back in woods it’s all over! People dig before you sh$@, bury said sh$& and take the wiping materials with you!

Report Check-In

Incredible spot! I stayed here in my van and had no trouble making it all the way to the river. One other couple was also staying nearby, but there’s plenty of space to spread out. Two bars of T-mobile. Awesome find.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot, as said it's close to the road but the river drowned out any traffic noises. One other car but plenty of space for multiple camps without being crowded. Unfortunately someone left a pile of poop bags, diapers, and toilet paper make sure to pack out all your trash

Report Check-In

pretty awesome spots. loads of fire rings all around the forest

Report Check-In

This place is amazing. Cell service (Verizon and AT&T but AT&T works better)

There are a lot of spots here. Some right next to the River and some not. I stayed next to the river. Neighbors fairly close but it’s loud so drowns out traffic, people talking etc.

I have a low clearance 2WD Class B 21’ and made it down the trails fine. Just have to be aware of bigger rocks sticking out or an old stump. Just go around them. Easy drive just pay attention.

10/10

Love it there! Spent two nights by the river. It’s overall pretty quiet (sound of the river covers everything). 8 minute walk to the Silver Creek visitor centre (bathroom!)

Report Check-In

lots of people here. we still stayed bc this was the closest place for us to do sunrise in mount rainier but i would rather have more privacy. beautiful views of the river

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights w Ben after backpacking rialto beach towards magic mine, pleased to have done so also as rest was certainly needed

Report Check-In

This place is wonderful. We have stayed here in the past and continue to come back. Tons of room. The sound of rushing water. Beautiful view. Cell service. Shade from the sun. And close to the National Park. Leave it better than you found it and enjoy!

Report Check-In

We loved it here! Ended up going in and out and staying 3 nights. We slept in a hammock on the trees by the river it was so peaceful the river is so loud it blocks out any traffic noise. A few other people came and went also. Close to the national park and lots of hiking.
Zero amenities but a 10 minute walk down the road and there’s the campsite with washrooms

Report Check-In

Lovely spot. Space for multiple vans. Take it slow coming in. Please be respectful, people have been pooping at the campsites and leaving garbage. This spot will be blocked if it is not better cared for.

Report Check-In

Nice spot, not for big vehicles because of narrow drive, also muddy but ok for our truck camper

Report Check-In

Beautiful place by the rushing White River. Multiple sites along the river and a few more in your way in from the main road. A bit muddy in some places but not bad. 1 bar LTE in Verizon and 2 bars LTE ATT. We were able to stream Netflix off the ATT hotspot but the Verizon wasn’t fast enough to work off of.

Report Check-In

Almost totally melted out, though quite muddy. Not a problem for a rig with good tires, but could imagine getting stuck with less. Nice quiet evening before skiing one of the last days at Crystal.

Report Check-In

Decided to pass on this spot for several reasons. The road going in was muddy in spots, the Verizon reception wasn't good, and there was a large tent at the end of the road that looked like they have been there a long time.

Report Check-In

Absolutely stunning spot on river - worth a visit as a quick stopover or as a base while exploring Sunrise area of Rainier! Good cell reception.

Report Check-In

This is my favorite place to camp outside Mt Rainier NP! I’ve stayed here twice now (once in 2020 and this trip), and even found space for a Sprinter (24 feet) on Labor Day weekend. Lots of different spots, right next to the river. Road is a bit rough, but doable with 2WD. Wouldn’t recommend for anything longer than 25 feet.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to stay overnight! The only sound that we heard was the river.

Report Check-In

Stayed in the very first spot by the road since I pulled in at 10 and left at 4. Road noise doesn't bother me and the spot was super large. Road to get in isn't great but passable with clearance / 4x4. No ATT at first spot but I was here earlier for a power nap and I had I and out 4g at spots closer to the river. Still not great

Report Check-In

There are several vehicles but lots of fire rings too many. Some trash I picked up around my camp site it is fairly clean this is a prime place to use your bucket or a Porta potty and Haul your poop to the dumpster at your next stop or use your black tank. If you do not this will be taken away. I preaching to the crowd that knows this keep it clean it a well loved spot.

Report Check-In

Same as described. Beautiful, tons of spots with fire rings right on the river, and plenty off the river if those are full. Packed on a Friday night in late June.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot! Probably about 6-8 spots on the river, but a lot of others all over the forest. The road goes down a lot further than you assume. AT&T service was great. Not a lot of sun so the solar panels don’t charge up well. Please clean up your toilet paper!

Report Check-In

love this place quite clean even got my class B down by the river

Report Check-In

I like this place!

No one else is here. Just the sound of the river, and some rain drops.

Report Check-In

Just off road 410 in upper east corner of Mt. Rainier. Looking for a place to stay after long day of hiking in the park. Easy to find close to road yet far enough away to not hear road noise over the river. Places to camp along side river and can have fires at night. Sites far enough apart only issue is what people leave behind and how they dispose of their human waste and garbage. Thankfully our site was clean but other areas not so much.

Report Check-In

Great spot - as described by others. Lots of spots on river and others in forest. Easily 10 spots near river - each about 100 ft away from each other. Others also in woods away from river access. Peeps need to do better caring for area though - some garbage, used tp around. Let’s all do better than those before us please.

Report Check-In

there's definitely a decent amount of sites here. I see probably 10ish sites in use tonight, that's probably close to it's capacity though. nice location by the water and great location by the park. the road to get here is a dirt road perpendicular to the highway with no signs so keep an eye out

Report Check-In

What an absolute gem! There’s plenty of space for a good amount of campers, so don’t even stress about there being enough room to find a spot! You can camp in the Forest, or closer to the river. Gorgeous spot, and for free! So close to the Sunrise entrance of Mount Rainier. Camped Friday at the end of July, and there was only one other person camping.

Report Check-In

This is a real gem of a place. It's fairly easy to get to, and we came in with our truck and slide-in camper, at almost 12 feet tall we were able to drive in with little issue. The stream is as advertised; close and rushing. There was one other couple here, but enough room to park far enough away to not encroach.

Report Check-In

What a great find... very secluded, My dog and I had the place To ourselves all day and night... tent 10 feet from river.. highly recommended

Report Check-In

Very nice place , lot of place just next to the creek , very quiet

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot, just outside of the NP gates. Lots of space under trees and beside the river. Didnt notice the road at all. Unfortunately people have left toilet paper scattered through the bush... pack it out! Then everyone can enjoy this free camp.

Report Check-In

Can’t beat it. A bunch of good spots back here. The more clearance you have, the further back you can explore. Unless you’re super courageous with it.
