Namibia
Locally owned place with very friendly staff and a new manager taking care of the place (comments before summer 24 no longer apply).
Water toilet, hot shower, electricity, drinking water, bar. For absolute luxury, only wifi missing ;)
250 NAD pppn (good value for money compared to others in area)

Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Some sites have shade but most do not. Facilities clean yet sparse (no sink in/near toilets). Looks like they are working to improve the campground, maybe more facilities in future. Water and power at camp site. Laundry service available.
Report Check-InBasic campsite, good for 1 night. Hot shower, big campsite, clean toilets
Feels a bit overpriced at 250 ppn
NEW MANAGER - Great place to stay!
We read many old not nice reviews, but as of Sept 24 this place is getting a new great reference!
Michael the new manager is working with his team every day to further improve the customer experience.
Absolutely clean toilets, nice nature experience shower (HOT) if you want (or a more classic one if you prefer). Electricity at your camp place, light, a table, DRINKING water at each site, shades and nice trees, huge place where you will enjoy your calm as neighbors are far.
The bar is open, more services to come and a very helpful staff. Hoping to come back soon to see the future evolution and recommending clearly to support the local team here for great value for money (rather than an overpriced anonymous place of the region).
Report Check-InMichael and Diana are putting great efforts to improve facilities and spaces at Campsite Abu Hoab.
Great and spacious shaded spots, with electricity plug and bulb, as well as drinkable tap water. Very clean communal toilets and showers. They have a bar open, soon a restaurant, they say. No WiFi.
Report Check-InFew nice campsites along the riverbed. N$180/pppn. Electricity on most sites, and water taps, too. Showers and toilets still in pretty desolate condition, but we’ve seen worse. Friendly people. Good for one night stop. They’ll do game drives to see the desert-adapted elephants, too, if you like. Don’t know the price, as we drive ourselves.
Report Check-InWc and shower are in desolate condition. But the people are friendly. We payed 250$ per 2 pers. and campervan. Electricity gor the gar and water where Running.
Report Check-InPlace def needs some love and attention.
There was water in the shower and toilet in the evening until the pipe broke in the morning.
Paid 300 for two incl firewood.
People working here can’t smile or be nice.
They did ask to drive to the petrol station and get petrol for the pump, which I did. There was not even one thank you. Obviously basic manners are not known.
Some nice features about the camp but overall not a great experience.
Report Check-InThere was no water in the shower so we had to use the pipe outside. No water in the toilet also when we arrive. No more electrivity at site. No more wifi. Come here only for shade and dusbin. The price is now 150 ND pppn, we negociate 200 ND for 2 pers for 1 night.
Report Check-In150pppn plus 10per motorbike. Was ok to sleep there for one night but def on the expensive site for what you get.
Report Check-InQuit place near the road and river.
Staff are not interested in you. Only smartphone and beer they are interested in.
Only answer to our quistions are yes, no and pay!!
Price N$ 120 pp and 20 for car. Much to overpriced for what you get.
Considdering the attitude of the staff and price..... Please don't come here and take a buschcamp.
Maybe then they will realize they have to change.
This is not the way the Namibians welcome the costumer.
120 NAD per Person plus 20 NAD per Car. We didn't stay and put up a Bush Camp some hundert Meters down the Road.
Report Check-Inbeautiful place at huab rivier, but the bar had no beers... for 3 days! unimpossible in hot season!
Report Check-InSandy terrain next to Aba Huab riverbed. Some pitches have good shadow from trees. Mediocre ablutions (little privacy, partly mixed gender, some toilets without doors). Uninerested staff. Campsite is supposed to have a restaurant, but when we arrived it was closed due to lack of supplies. No water is availa le during the night.
NAD 260 (2 adults, camper).
OK, but nicer places in the area. Doors on ablutions seemed optional and the place seemed in a little disrepair
Cost:N$85
