Forest Road 165 just out of town has dispersed camping all along the road. we kept climbing to get out of the heat and found a nice flat spot with a fire ring at 9200 feet. It was cool and full of wild flowers. We were among aspens, deer and cattle. There are a few lakes and trails to other lakes nearby but not accessible to camp near by car.
