Description

Free hot springs right next to the lovely Crystal River.
Open year round but usually overrun and washed out by the spring snowmelt during May and June.
Otherwise a perfect spot to sit in a hot water pool anytime, even if it's snowing.
There's a wide pullout for parking, then you climb down a short slope to the river.
Mountain wild sheep, elk, and other wildlife are common.
No camping or facilities, but a great spot to relax for a while.

This time of year it’s overflowed with water & you’ll be building your own pool. Come by with a shovel to dig out a spot and help create the hot spring that will stay for the rest of the year till next snow melt season! I made myself a little pool and relaxed in it :)

A pull off on the side of the road. I backed my 31 ft c class rv on the far left side of the pull off & fit just fine! Did take some maneuvering. Very windy morning but in the spring it was perfect 👍🏼 stayed for the day and left late afternoon!

Easy to find, right off the hwy. Arrived early and there were a few people there. The pools are very small and very shallow, only room for a few people. Hot water right next to the river.

Hot spring pools right on the river. A short climb down to the river from the parking pullout off highway 133 are several hot/warm rock pools for sitting and soaking. Lovely spot to relax, even in winter. Free.
People sit in these pools even when it's snowing.
The spring snowmelt raises the river level too high in the spring (May through July or so) but otherwise the pools are useable all year.
