Description

It's hard to find a good spot for wild camping near the road from Luanda to Calendula. We ended up camping at this gasstation. Very friendly manager who speaks French and allowed us to stay for a night. it's open 24/7. Toilet available and in the shop relatively cheap, and cold beer. Also croissants and coffee. We had to pay the guard 1000 kwz.

Latest Check-Ins

We asked one the guy we found there and he immediatly pointed us some spots where we could park our rig. He didnt mention any money but we gave 1000 KZ to one of the night gard. If you dont pay, they will knock at your door the next morning (its what they did to us one morning even if we already paid so...) A lot of trucks park here for the night as well so its not quiet at all in the evening or in the morning but the night was kind of silent and fresh (altitude). Toilet situation is pretty good and clean. Big garbage bins available. Everybody is super friendly, it feels very safe.
Be aware that a lot of prostitutes are coming there at around 8pm for work. Somebody proposed us marijuana. Very interesting place. We spent 2 nights there, not in a row. Not very relaxing but an ok place in the area. Its actually (a bit) better than its sounds.

Report Check-In

Still available for overnighting. Cost is 500Kw to the security guard (manager makes this clear) which is fair. There are also showers in ablution in back corner, not sure if these are free as there was no attendant in entrance booth.

Really friendly staff all trying to practice their little English (better than my zero Portuguese!).
