We enjoyed the campsite.
Yes, it is close to a road, but as this is the road going up Sani Pass there was very little traffic and the campsite has lots of trees and vegetation, so you don't see the road.
We were able to find a flat spot as well, and enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere.
WiFi good and fast at the restaurant, but does not extend to the campsite.
There is electricity to charge your electronics in the campers kitchen.
Not the best campsite. We stayed here as it was close to Sani Pass the next day. Right next to the road and noisy. Not many level sites. Won’t stay here again
Report Check-InWe like to add that it is a very eco-friendly lodge and campsite in a green setting and with cosy common facilities. Try their own yoghurt, cheeses and bread.
Report Check-InCamped for ZAR110 pppn, children under 10 half price. Nice spot and a good base to explore and enjoy the surrounds of the Drakensberg. Grass pitches, clean ablutions and good service. Would stay here again. Quite muddy when rains.
Report Check-InWe staid in a very nice family cottage, self catering with fully equipped kitchen. Paid R1240.
Friendly owner and staff.
Sympathic place in the middle of the vegetation. We had a rondavel, which was cozy with nice views to the Drakenberg mountains.
Report Check-InStayed one night in the dorm. Nice place with cozy common room.
Road to sanipass is soon gravel. After the border is 4x4 only until the top. Roadconditions can change quickly. Its a lot of washed out stuff with big rocks and some loose gravel fillings.
I did it with the bike and its was sometimes challenging.
190 rand per person per night for the dorm.
Nice and clean rooms, clean bathrooms, hot showers, well equipped kitchen, common area with fireplace, heater in the dorm. WiFi is free to use in the restaurant, but barely works. Nice and friendly staff. They also offer many tours to the mountains and to Lesotho. Nice place! Road is paved tarmac all the way coming from Underberg to the backpackers. Not sure of the condition of the road between the backpackers and the Sani Pass Border with Lesotho.
Very hard to find a flat place to put the tent. Bathroom very dirty. There is bathroom and kitchen next to the area, there is another kitchen with everything a little bit far, but worth the walk.
They have many hikes and tours. It was 100 pp. they offer laundry service, a big basket for 60r and if you want it to be dry in the machine 120.
Stayed one night for 180R (90pppn), campsite close to road with table and grill, kitchen, restaurant with Wi-Fi, craft shop, bathrooms close to campsite
Report Check-InGreat location for hiking and access to Sani Pass. Camping area small. Camped in the grassy parking area with our roof top.
Report Check-InVery small, grassy campground next to Sani Lodge Backpackers at road to Sani Pass. Various trails from site and different tours organized. Nice meeting room with fire. Well maintained. One meal option cooked nightly.
