Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Visited twice to use their bar and pool, which was a nice relief from the intense heat. HOWEVER when speaking with the local Komani San community we decided to boycott this place. The owner and management do not treat or pay their staff well. Neither do they engage with the local community. Places like this should not be endorsed. Much better to go to Aunt Koera's place down the road for a more authentic Kalahari experience, and support the Khomani San community, responsible tourism at its best!
Report Check-InA regular stopover enroute through to Botswana. Unfortunately this stay will be our last. Despite asking the owner to chat to the group of campers 3 sites down about their music, party, noise past 10pm - they carried on with no consequence. If this kind of behaviour is condoned then it’s a no go for us.
Report Check-InArrived here to discover that Molopo is actually much better than what the pics depict. A really nice campsite quite well spaced with each having private ablutions. Equipped with braais, water basin, tap, grassy, shade netting and level ground. We paid R400pn. Management comes by in the late afternoon and gives you braai broodtjies ready to put on your fire. Plenty birdlife, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. Very very nice and I would not have pictured a place like this in the Kalahari dune belt! Definitely would stay here again.
Report Check-InNice place, well maintained. Good Restaurant.
Most places are a little short for a big rig.
Very good MTN 4G Signal, very weak 3G Vodacom.
Beautiful spot.
Lovely staff
Good food.
Each campsite own abulutions. Hot water.
Small sites but not issue for us.
Also a lapa, table/bench, sink at each site.
Enjoyed our stay!!
Like described by others, but with the following remarks. Firstly, there are very few pitches that are level enough to sleep on if you sleep in or on your car. It puzzles me that they built all these nice looking facilities but did not account for something so elemental. Secondly - but this goes for a lot of South African campsites - the pitches are really small and close together. Private ablutions are great and clean, but are not directly at the pitches, rather they are bundled by the 4 with a shared roof and open ceiling. Pool was dirty but nevertheless in use.
Staff is very friendly. Every pitch got a fresh small loaf of bread in the evening to be used for breakfast.
Still 150 pppn.
The bottle store at the entrance also sells MTN airtime. There is no ATM in or near the village.
Stayed here for a few days while we waited for our camping dates in the NP, really nice place with friendly staff, private ablutions for all sites, we used the restaurant one night it was good food. Not bad value at 300 rand for two people, you can use the pool etc too. Each site has a shaded sitting area which was great in the heat.
Report Check-InCamping and lodge near entrance to Kagalagadi National Park. Expensive but has all the facilities including a pool. Cost 300 rand for 2 adults. Children over a certain age pay 75
