Agree with other reviews that a 4x4 with good clearance is needed for this mixed terrain. Along a sandy beach. Up sand dune and winding through paths that contained lava rock. All very cool. Beautiful out here. Thankfully only saw a couple of mosquitoes but have no doubt come aug/sep they are out in force (as mentioned on another review). Worth visiting. Testing out the truck which is a 4x4 Toyota Tacoma.

Very nice and quiet place! It is not easy to come here, but once arrived you will be alone on this beautiful beach. 4wd is mandatory, you need to drive on beaches, drive on lava fields with rocks and drive on sand dunes. From the beach we have seen whales jumping away and if you walk around 1km on your right you will find an island with lot of sea lions and pelicans. To come here you need to register to a ranger but it is free. Be careful with high tide, it could be necessary to wait low tide to drive on beach. On this point you will find a fireplace (there is not a lot of firewood) and toilet. Mussels are so big, try to test it it is not too bad.

This was the most miserable place I have ever been. The mosquitoes were so bad the we could not leave the rig. We had literally had hundreds of bites after being exposed for only a few minutes. The real name of this place is Punta Mazo and it is named this for a good reason! The area can be unseasonably cold because it is prone to dense fog.

High clearance 4 X 4 is a must. To get there you have to drive up a rather large sand dune.

amazing spot to camp no one around for 3 days, just a few fisherman's on the water, great little outhouse there. mussels from the rocks on low tide are super tasty🙂
4x4 recommended but sand roads are not to bad. when heading to the tip of the peninsula go left around its MUCH easier and LESS sharp and rocky roads.

Fantastic camping! Sand is soft and be aware of tide.

Beautiful and far enough away to feel very remote but only took about an hour to get here from San Quintin. Need 4x4 and sand driving skills. Deepest, softest sand I've come across so far. Had decent cell reception almost everywhere on the peninsula. Windy but no bugs and plenty of campsites with a little wind protection.

Beautiful Place. it's difficult to get here, definitely have a worthy 4x4, and once you get here get ready fir the mosquitos. we've been here for 2 days and have been eaten alive by mosquitoes. wouldnt make the journey out here unless you were staying multiple nights. still a beautiful place though
