Ecuador
Hostal with campground area. The space can fit several vans, large ones too. Kitchen, Bathroom and shower close by camping area, hot shower a short walk away though trees. Wifi at reception. Restaurant attached. $4 pp.
The reception and parking area are separate and you can't drive to reception directly as there are railroad tracks. Just follow Google maps to Hostal Aya Huma, there are a bunch of signs for it in the neighborhood. Park and walk across unused train tracks to reception/restaurant. They will direct you to parking area. Cool place!
They do sweat lodges for $15 pp right by the camping area.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great place! Unique opportunity to experience the Fakcha Llakta community from up close. The village is a lot of fun and the forest and waterfall are great too. I went there every day for a week. They still do a Temazcal every month, sometimes more. Recommended.
To access the campground you need to take another road to the back. I’ll put a new campground sign over there. I entered with a big old German firetruck without any problems (3,6m high, 8m long).
Report Check-InTried to get here today but road construction blocked access. Tried a few different ways but no luck.
Report Check-InI love the place. It is in a nice scenic place with mountains and maïs fields surrounded and you stand in a fenced parking lot behind their hostel. Toilets and shower are on the premises but also a sweat lodge and fireplace for the ceremonies who take place every month.
The hosts are very nice, they respect nature and live themselves as close to nature as possible.
You can have breakfast in the hostel or dinner with a nice fire in the restaurant, good food!
And there are lots of trails to walk to the waterfall and to town. Very recommended!
