Description

Large level gravel lot right by the water (boardwalk). Close to downtown.

- 5min walk to Cruise Centre (toilets, fast wifi)
- 10min walk to YMCA, library,
- 15min to Sobey's (supermarket).

There are public toilets on site, but apparently only open in summer (high season).

Lot gets full and busy during business hours and quiet and dead empty at night.
Some locals sitting in their cars, drinking and listening to music in the evening, but no big party. If you want to stay away from them, park on the city side of the lot, away from the water.

Stayed for five days and nights and didn't get bothered. Free.

Disclaimer: Things might look different in summer (high season).

stayed here last night. was a good place to stay. not too noisy and practically empty by 11pm. talking with locals, they said that the city recently changed it so that big rigs cannot stay here anymore, but cars are ok.

so far so good. trying to sleep here and we'll see how it goes

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Downtown Sydney. Great location. Walking distance to pubs, restaurants.

Report Check-In

Gravel lot, were probably 5 or 6 vehicles staying overnight. Ice cream shop on boardwalk and restaurants up the hill. Large boat did run all night (to be expected!) so a bit loud. Public bathrooms are locked overnight.

Report Check-In

A very good spot, close to toilets, water and quite a few pubs. Allow for a bit of randomness for the noise : a car next to us stayed for nearly two hours with music blasting before leaving.

This was the noisiest spot I've ever spent the night on since I started vanlife a couple of months ago. If you like hearing car tires rolling on gravel all night long, you will like it otherwise, try finding another spot. I got fed up with the noise, ended up using ear plugs. I'd rather sleep in walmart parking lot.

Report Check-In

Spent two nights here due to cancelled ferry sailing. Also filled up water tank by public washroom. Second night was a bit busier as weather was nicer but both peaceful nights.

Report Check-In

Free gravel lot. It has pretty big pot holes in the middle but just go slow. Busy during the day but cleared out at night. People hang out in their cars or by the water, by 10 it is quiet.

Report Check-In

Quiet night on the water. Gravel lot. Locals come go to look at the water but it was quiet. Bars/Pubs in the area within walking distance.

Bon spot!

Great location. Can be noisy at night as locals come and play loud music. Right on the boardwalk. Close to shops.

Report Check-In

This area is very busy during the day, especially peak traveling season. At night it seems to slow down but hit and miss as there are vehicles going in and out throughout the night, even during winter time. I used to live in Sydney for several months in the winter and always parked here. There's flushing washroom right behind chill zone, and water spigot on the side of the washroom building. This washroom is seasonal. However, the washroom by the big Fiddle and "the flavor on the water" restaurant is open all year round. I don't recommend parking overnight here during the weekend, you may have a better chance during the week day for a quiet night.

Report Check-In

Stayed the night - lots of busy travels about in July - dead quiet at night - water spigot by the marina

Be careful !! My Vehicle got hit fortunately they stayed police wrote a report - not a reflection of location just keep in mind if close to busy spots by the boardwalk

Complied with description. Nice area to park for the day

Report Check-In

no wifi, place with lights, always cars around, not that quiet

Report Check-In

Had a good and quiet night there, wifi very weak

Report Check-In

very good, same as what was said before. busy during the day but still ok, quiet at night. toilet pit very useful (closed during the night).

Report Check-In

Parking ok during summer. overall wifi. toilet in the pavillon. very quiet.

Report Check-In

Free parking between 5pm and 8am beside the boardwalk. Visited by locals during the night even on week nights. Toilets on site closes at dusk in the summer and a bit later at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion. There is also a toilet pit at 10 min walk, beside the firestation.
Near downtown and 5 min walk from Doktor Luke's, a nice coffee shop to get your coffee and breakfast sandwich in the morning.
