Description

The sites on FR 525 are all packed at this time, took this road just off and up a bit and found seclusion. The road is bumpy but I did it in a 03 Ford E-150 Campervan, nice spot with a fire pit. Verizon is hit and miss but getting some 3G/LTE. Also allot of day traffic during the day on the FR 525 as it's a main road to the ruins a few miles up, so this gets you off that a bit.

several other camping spots along this road but this one is the closest to normal dispersed camping. the others were basically just big parking lots, this one has more of a network of parking spots and trees to hide behind for more privacy. a little rough getting through some spots with a Prius but worth the effort.

Report Check-In

This is one of the few designated dispersed camping spots on 525. Lots of space but lots of campers as well. Don’t expect to have a big area to yourself, but do expect amazing views.

Pack it in, pack it out. Leave this place better than you found it, please.

Busy busy busy but found a spot and we loved it here. Service w AT&T was ok. There’s a road within Nolan that is bumpy but takes you to more secluded sites. Got here easily in our Ram Promaster

This is where the designated camping area at Nolan ends. The area for camping was recently reduced once again so there is now less space to spread out. Who knows if the NF will reduce the space again. There are still a few secluded pull outs but they are hard to come by. Get here before 2 PM if you want an ideal spot. More than likely there will be somewhere to squeeze in whatever time you come in. There is a patch of rocks to get to the second section of camping spots but most vehicles should be able to navigate it with some attentive driving.

This is a very nice place to camp. There used to be a lot of dispersed along FR525, now there is only 5 designated sites & campers get “huddled” together. We camped at Nolan (about 6 miles north of 89A on FR525) it seemed more spread out then the others & we were in a secluded site. Quiet & scenic.

Report Check-In

We stayed between this site and 525.
A few different places to pull out along 525 but many were occupied. This little area had a few different places off the road to choose from. There were a few people in some spots but we found something suitable.
Woke in the morning to someone parked fairly close but still private.
Popular area so you might need to get here earlier.
