Description

PRICE 27 ARPIL 2022: 140 kwacha ppn.

A few campsites and chalets on a working farm which is 1 km away. The sites are on a nice meadow with big trees. Every site has its own little boma. No MTN network. Looking a bit neglected.

Nice shady camping spots. Basic facilities with a donkey shower. If the water isn’t running in shower just ask as she has to change it over. 140k pp

Report Check-In

camping is quite peaceful. 140kwppn the grass was cut when I was there, the showers were hot and bathrooms clean. there was a bit of a smell that passed every couple hours, but it went away

Report Check-In

Chalet was dirty place was very run down for the price definately not worth it couldn’t even braai grids were rusted beyond repair grass not been cut hope they repair was always a good stop over

Report Check-In

Choosing the campsite while avoiding the two backward sites. The smell of a nearby pigsty can be quite disturbing.

Report Check-In

As described by others. K140pppn. Quiet and safe but neglected.

Report Check-In

Basically the ONLY decent stopover between Livingstone and Lusaka. Its rainy season, so lush green grass with abundant trees. Water + electricity available. Most stands have nice roofed ‘lapa’ with braai stands. Donkey boiler was lit when we arrived as we were the only guests, but did not produce hot water…so cold showers unfortunately. The rest = perfect for stopover.

Report Check-In

Still one of our favorite stopovers. Nice green spacious lawn under big trees. Electricity and warm showers. Nice halfway point between Lusaka and Livingstone.
Still K120 p/p for tour companies and locals. Birders paradise with very good sightings.

Report Check-In

We obviously chose a bad day. Chalet basin drain blocked. Large “Day visitor“ party of about 20 people with very loud music and shouting. They eventually departed at 8pm.
Chose a chalet after a long day. Clean enough and beds fine.

Report Check-In

As described, camp on open ground, some have little boma setups. chalets available. ablutions are clean but need some lighting and the donkey was obviously tired that night.
140kw pp ....

Report Check-In

Nice quiet camp site 140kw pppn. Electricity available and hot donkey shower. Wood for sale 20kwa

Report Check-In

Great place for a stopover after many hours driving. Toilets/showers a bit dark and shower definitely lacks a bit of pressure but still worth a night stay. Tap water is from borehole and it is potable according to receptionist. Official written price for 2022 is 140 Kwacha ppn. No network with MTN.

Report Check-In

still a perfect place to stay. quiet and a bit of bush feeling. it's a constantly maintained place so if something is not perfect it will be done. best place for a stopover

Report Check-In

Very neat campsite, clean bathrooms. We had a good nights rest.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, spacious and very quiet campsite. Access for BigRig: Note the branches, but otherwise problem-free. Colorful, wonderful bird life.

Report Check-In

The lawn was looking a little dry and unloved. the sites had everything they needed but were a little bit past their best. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 110kw pppn for camping. We had an early start and a long drive so opted for the family Chalet for 800kw. The chalet had everything you needed but was not very nicely finished. Functional, but that is about it. Clearly a nice campsite in the past, but needs done TLC.

Report Check-In

One of the few campsites that is conveniently located a bit off the main road and thus is wonderfully quiet at night. We stayed here 2 times before and are always looking forward to checking in again. Good hot showers, nice bathrooms, electricity and water tap at the sites... if there were some cooking from the owners, it would be just perfect. Also, nice to have the fresh milk sale at the junction of the main road...

Report Check-In

The whole camp site looks like a park. Cut lawn to camp on and big trees for shade. Staff is very friendly, ablutions are clean with warm water.
A little off the road and very quiet.
Lots of birds that you can watch and listen to.
Water is transparent and drinkable.
We were the only ones with a biker that arrived a day after us.
A place to relax. Either at your camp site or the big covered terrace in front of the bar.

Report Check-In

A very reliable stop over on the way from Lusaka to Livingstone. Nice ablution block, water was cold but only because we arrived late and were the only campers. Staff started the fire to warm up the water. Very spacious sites with your own shelter, braai, stone table, tap and sockets. Very quiet at night, wonderful star gazing. Staff friendly. Paid 100 kwacha pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Many power cuts these days in Zambia, thus no electricity. They charge half price from 2 years onwards.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite, the fasilities is good, clean and warm water. the people is very frendly and we had a real good sleepover.

Report Check-In

Very Nice camp site!! A pretty place to stay en-route between Lusaka and Victoria Falls.

Report Check-In

Wonderful campsite, friendly staff. 100 pppn for camping, 500 for a twin cottage. Hot water is available, just not when you have share with an overlanding group - they managed to finish it all up (twice!)..

Report Check-In

We stayed here and it was great. The manager came past the next morning checking on our stay and keen on our feedback. The ablutions are clean and there is ample hot water. Electricity is available on some of the sites. Staff are helpful without being intrusive. This place is a yes

Report Check-In

Same as written, but hot shower with pressure. Pressure always an issue in these parts and temperature depends on when the fire is heated.

Report Check-In

Nice place for a stop over! The ablutions are clean, nice shelter, braai spot, water tap. Grassy sites with trees and horses. Only the shower is not good: low pressure and cold. Price is 120kw pp, but negotiated down to 100kw pp.

Report Check-In

Great place. Only the sound of frogs and cows. Ablutions are clean.

Report Check-In

Not such a great place, to be honest. They’re rethatching the campsite huts and the whole place just feels a bit run-down... Price now K120 per person for camping. A bit steep for what it is.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite between Lusaka and Livingstone.
Camping 80kwacha pppn.
Chalet 600kwacha for 2 people, ensuite bathroom.
Firewood 20kwacha per bundle.
Restaurant and bar or you can purchase a braii packs for 35kwacha.

Report Check-In

100 kwatcha pppn now, drinking water from tab at campsite

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet, even over the weekend.
Restaurant food is simple (eg beef stew, fried chicken....) but quite small portions at 50kw each.
Camping was 100kw pppn.

Report Check-In

Very quiet at night, close to nature, birds at night and horses during the day. We made a couple of small walks to the farm (heading away from the main road) and to the main road/railway where women were selling fresh milk in the evening.
On the campsite itself, there was not much business when we were there, bar was closed (even though we insinuated that we were interested), also, when we asked whether it was possible to buy fresh meat from the farm, the woman at the reception did not make an effort to fix that for us. We enjoyed the two nights, though, fresh air, fresh milk and a book exchange shelf at the reception. Ablutions ok.

Report Check-In

Lovely camp. Boma available as shelter with lights and electricity hookup. $8 USD pp which was 72 kwacha, so good value. No WiFi. Watch out for the monkeys!

Report Check-In

Good stopover, clean ablutions, good hot showers, friendly staff, quiet, 8usd pp.

Report Check-In

Big and nice camping-clean ablutions- flat and grassy pitches-friendly reception-we kept away the flies and muscitos with muscito coil-the grass was short-80 kwacha pp

Report Check-In

Beautiful campsite with almost everything you need. No wifi but all pitches have a braai, kitchen block with water tap, a boma with power outlet and light, and lots of space in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Ablutions block is pretty far away for most pitches bit spotless clean and very well maintained. 80 ZKW pppn. Lots of birds and apparently also monkeys around. Only drawback that I can think of is the abundance of insects. Some flies during the day, some big spiders in the evening and tons of aggressive ants in the morning.

Report Check-In

Campsite in high grass, lots of moskitos, no WIFI, we should pay 36$ with two adults and four children, to expensive so we did not stay

Report Check-In

Our 2nd visit to this very well kept campsite .great stop over on the long drive between Livingstone & Lusaka.. Has everything you need - shade. Electric , water ,Hot showers ,cold beers & friendly camp cat & staff.

Nice big place for truckcamper under big trees for shadow. Ablution ok., no electricity for the car, water supply, they sell firewood, friendly stuff

Report Check-In

Funny smelling campsite with (therefore) lots of flies. 8USD pppn. Sandy grounds with dry grass.

Report Check-In

Simple campsite with thatched shelters, braai areas, water and electricity, nice ablutions, good stopover between Lusaka and Livingstone, unfortunately the farm dogs were barking loudly till late at night and from early in the morning so better to stay at beginning of campsite. 8US$ pp

Report Check-In
