Description

The last 45 km had many puddles (4 of them waist deep and I had to push my moto out). My timing was just the slight beginning of the rainy season. The bad part took me a whole day. If you break down, there are cars passing every so often and huts along the way. People kept warning me about wild animals. I didn't see any.

Latest Check-Ins

Beginning of dry season.
Track from Yombi to Mandji was dry, full of dust and many holes. Needed almost 2h to reach Mandji.
From Mandji to checkpoint CBG, perfect track.
From checkpoint CBG to the Iguela Brigade (Loango NP entry), you have around 40km of a corridor track, full of potholes, full of mud and water. Easily duable if you have the experience of this kind of situation. Then, few km of a road in construction (as said in the previous comment) and when you leave the main road to reach Iguela, it's a sandy track - no water at this moment

Report Check-In

the road was certainly an adventure. It had rained heavily a few days before and the last 40km were pretty exciting. water to our doors countless times and one muddy rutted hill. (got up without getting stuck) most of the puddles although deep had firm underneath.

on our return 5 days later and nearly no rain the puddles lost 30cm plus of water and the rutted hill was flat and smooth. still slow and bumpy but manageable

the most exciting thing was that we spoke to some road builders on our way back who had started making about 10km of better dirt road and they said in about 2 months they should have a road through that 40km section... 🤞

Road is good until last 60 km. Then a bit tough but probably still possible in a 2wd in dry weather, but not sure about wet season.

Report Check-In

The last 60km are no nice road anymore. And you have to transit a oil field where you get a Security escort (no payment). After the oil field go straight not left as the maps might indicate. This road doesn’t exist anymore. But There’s an new one.

Report Check-In

Gravel road to the Luango Park and to the coast. Nice gravel road. No 4x4 needed.
