Latest Check-Ins

I had breakfast and coffee, I could not get the wifi to work. Great place to get out of the wind for a while.

Report Check-In

Open and they say they will stay open. Nice people. Matrimonial for 6000 (~16 USD)
UPDATE: Came here again and had arranged previously with the guy running this place to buy gasoline from him for a fixed price. When we arrived and needed the gasoline he basically extorted us to pay a much higher price.

As other people have said it looks like this place is closed, at least temporarily, so don't rely on it for food or water! The buildings provide a wee bit of shelter from the wind so could still be a place to park up or pitch a tent in a pinch.

Report Check-In

No one here on December 16, unfortunately.

Report Check-In

Closed up and no one home when I passed on November 1. I brewed up on his front doorstep so I think someone would have come out if anyone had been there. The people at the garage hostel at Baja Caracoles had said that the owner usually opens up around the start of the fishing season around early December. It would be best to check it’s open before you count on staying here, as it’s a long trek to the next habitations of any kind.

Open when visited 4th of March.

Diego is one of the nicest persons I have met during my cycling trip in Patagonia.

He literally saved my life giving me shelter for a couple of days when the wind outside was up to 80 km/h. The hotel was full and he had plenty of work and no place to host, but let me pitch my tent in the dinning room for two days. He charged me nothing. Also let me shower in the rooms when the visitors left.

Rooms are very cozy and beautiful if you want more comfort. Shower is good and very hot. The food is basic but good and at good price considering it is in the middle of nothing.

Please stop by to support his bussiness! He is a bit shy at the beginning but an extremely good person, and his laughter is so contagious! He also knows everything about the surroundings and can provide good advise.

Extreem nice host! We felt really welcome.
We parked our campervan in front of the hotel (out of the wind). We took a shower (100 pesos/1,5 euro). There was wifi.
Also possible to have dinner or breakfast. And there is a bar with fireplace.

Good spot to stay overnight if you need a break. Jorge, the owner is super nice and generous. The hotel was closed as he had no water or electricity but he offered us to stay in our motor home for free, gave us WIFI and made us coffee in the morning to enjoy in his warm kitchen. Thank you, Jorge!

Report Check-In

Around 17:00 we arrived at this place. Completely closed. We waited for half an hour an decided to continue south to the next hotel in Gov. Gregorez (120km).

The owner grilled an excellent steak for us. He is also very knowledgeable on local road conditions and deals (Perito Moreno Park, Rio Meyer trail, ...). We also saw that he was able to help a motorcycle driver and a bunch of tourists with spare gasoline. We will stop there again! :-)

Report Check-In

Jorge is managing the place now. It wasn't fully open yet as it needs a bit of renovation, but there's solar electricity during the day, relatively fast internet, and Jorge is so nice and helpful. He welcomed me at the exit of the Paso Mayer, and I can recommend to stay with him!

Au milieu de nulle part !!!
Pas d’essence !!

Report Check-In

Nice place, but quite expensive: 75 dollar for a matrimonial. We left.

Report Check-In

We slept here for one night in the car park in our camper with a tent on the roof. The wind was something to note - even protected in the car park we found it incredibly windy! That’s Patagonia for you.

The owner was super nice though. He speaks some English and was helpful!

Report Check-In

We had a nice dinner here. Quiet and warm place in the middle of the windy and cold ruta 40. They also have good advices and brochures of the nearby (and beautiful!) Parque Perito Moreno.

Nice Owner, Miguel, seems to live here with his children. We asked if we could camp outside in our van. No problem and for free. In the evening we used the bathrooms for free too, the next day he asked for 10 Pesos. Women’s bathroom wasn’t that clean but ok, shower was hot and perfect for 100 Pesos. Restaurant looked good but we didn’t eat there. Parking lot is big and has some spaces protected from the wind.
