What an incredible place! The campsites are beachfront with all the facilities you could want. Ester and Albert are so friendly and helpful (and even lent us a small electric stove as we couldn't refill our empty gas cylinder). The beach is shared with locals and isn't cut off from the community, which is nice. Airtel reception is decent enough to do online work or have video calls.

7000 pppn. Laundry 2000 per load. You can have your car washed for 2000.

This will be one of our favourite spots in Africa!

The best campground so far! Este and Albert ard so friendly and helpful, checking on you during your stay. I have been spending a week here, before crossing to Tanzania. Couldn't be better: tent pitched under shade, very clean and modern ablutions, free drinking water, simple meals (delicious) offered at good prices. Very nice swim at the lake. They have cold soft drinks, you can purchase beer just nearby. Perfect!

Loved our stay here! Everything you need and more for a great stay. We even joined in on their Wednesday afternoon play session with the local kids that they host every week - great fun. Incredible work they are doing in the community! We ended up staying for a week.

This place is super for campers !! The best ablutions, free drinking water, a nice little shelter with table and place to do dishes by each campsite. Run by a supernice couple. Everything as described in previous comments. Supervalue for 7000 kw pppn. And Este makes very tasty crēpes (real pancakes) on order. We fully recommend this place !!!

A superb campsite. Not many pitches, but lovely setting, very peaceful, and Este and Albert who run it are super nice. It is run as part of a community project, and they have a little shop selling a few things which helps towards it.

Toilets and showers are very well kept.

Worth a stay for a day or two at least.

A real gem!
This very well equipped camp site is one of the clearest, well equipped site I have stayed on whilst in Africa!
It even has a bath!!
Every ablution block has plenty of hot water, anti slip mats, hand Towels, soap, and bath mats!!
The peaceful camping sites are shaded, flat and very clean, each one has a BBQ area, sink and seating..
The site offers washing facilities at 2000KW and you can get your Car / Rig hand washed for only 1500KW

Kings Highway does it again! Like the Kings Highway in Zambia this camp gets 150% for value!
Clean bathrooms, water and barbecue stands for every site, a fantastic atmosphere and wonderful hosts Alburt and Este.
They really have got it right and I wish we could have stayed longer just to chill under the plentiful shade trees and enjoy!
They have cool drinks and snacks on site as well as firewood at a small charge. There are some small shops nearby where one can get a few basics.
Definitely worth staying there! Well done!

Great camp and stopover after a hectic border post.

This is a great campsite! It is run by a Christian NGO assisting Malawian students. The manager family is South African, which explains the grill stands, power points, shades and sinks at the sites. They provide filtered water. There is plenty of shade and a nice beach. I paid 8,000 kwacha. You can buy wifi.

Very nice place with lovely owners as previously mentioned. We stayed a total of 2 nights. Owners offered us to use their washing machine, which was awesome. Ablutions the cleanest we’ve had so far on our 6 month trip!

Lovely campsite next to the main road (M5) and beautiful lake. Had such an awesome safe swim in the lake. Ablution with hot water and very clean. Safe parking and lovely braai areas. Beautiful shade under the trees. Owners are so friendly and invited me for dinner with them being the only camper for the night. Had a great time here. Such a great stopover either coming from Tanzania into Malawi or leaving Malawi into Tanzania. 140km from the border. Will recommend then any day and only $7 per person.

Beautiful campsite with excellent ablutions, grass, shade, wash basins, water and braai’s on site. Right in the beach. And most of all, the most beautiful hosts we had in Albert and Este who manages the camp but actually are involved in mission work on site as volunteers. They will welcome your support!! Highly recommended!!

As described, one of the best camps we have been to, we stayed more than a week. As said the entry with big rigs is a bit problematic. The sign hanging at the gate should be picked up and you should be careful from the big tree next to the gate.

Really a nice quiet campsite. Afrikaans couple managing it. Very few locals when we were there. Such friendly owners . Everything was clean. Ablution is really 5 star. Would really recommend it. Firewood available.

A very lovely and welcoming place to relax for a few days. There are more beautiful beaches elsewhere, but this place is #1 for the kindness of the owners and staff and for the quality of the ablutions. Our kids played with the owners’ kids and we were welcomed to join in with whatever was going on - the owners are very active in the community. You can sit on the beach and watch the fishermen hauling their nets in.

Maybe one of the nicest campsites of Malawi! Right on the beach, shaded campsite with electricity and water and even a dishwashing basin!
The managers are very friendly and our children played with their children. So we could relax :)
The ablutions are very good and clean.
5000 pppn and children up to 12 half price. Under 6 free of charge.

Highly recommend this place.

We stayed only 1 night while heading south from Livingstonia and were so impressed with this campsite. The managers are wonderful, staff very polite and attentive, view over the lake beautiful. Oustanding super clean ablutions! The only downside is the bar across the road that plays loud music until 9pm and starts quite early in the morning. We paid 3500 kwacha pppn. We also bought some wood and eggs, all quickly delivered. Wood was very dry which is not common in wet season so we made a fire on the beach.

Amazing camp right at the beach, really loved it here! Each parking spot has a power socket, water station with washbasin and a fireplace. The ablutions were very clean and showers hot. Supernice staff. RTT no problem, big rigs might get access over beach (driving in sand).
Highly recommend staying here.

I really loved this place. The best campsite ever. The owner, Albert & Este are the most caring host I hv met. They checked on me everyday since I'm the only person camping there at that time. I paid 3800Kw (USD5) per nite. They sell internet data starting at 500Kw for 250Mb. Also u can buy eggs, tomatoes, potatos etc. As others had said, ablution is great, super clean and Este's pancake is a must try. I bought fresh fish from the local. I stayed 3 nights here and had to force myself to leave to continue with my journey. This is a must place to stay if u are nearby the area.

Nice camping in the shade on the beach, 5usd pppn. They have rooms for 7 Usd pppn. Clean toilet, fireplace and barbecue facilities. They can prepare simple food for a very cheap price. They have soft drink, they can give a lift to the shop to buy some beer.

Awesome place right on the lake, each camp site is great, if you're north or south you would be crazy not to hang back here for a few days or like I did for linger than normal till I was about to run out of food, pull in and just chill, next time I'm bringing a boat and will be around for a good week or 2

Can't agree more with the comments below. This is THE campsite you have to visit. They even have a bath! And swings for the children. You can also make use of a kayak for free. The managers Este and Albert are also involved in community work. If you are interested, it is a great way to get to know the Malawian people in a very informal way. If you are not interested, you really are not 'disturbed' at all.

Our favourite campsite in Malawi. It’s not just the lovely place and the 5 star ablutions, but the friendliness of Albert, Este and their whole crew. They will go to any length to make your stay memorable. And not because of commercial purposes. All rates are cheap (campsite 5 USD pppn, laundry 2000 Tsh, pancakes 1000 Tsh etcetera). They make you feel welcome because they are hospitable and loving people. We stayed for a week and even then were sorry to leave. The view of the beach is very nice. Local people come there to fish, do their laundry and use the lake as a bathroom. Joyful gang that leaves the guests of the campsite in peace.

Lovely! Lot’s of space to camp under the trees. Very good ablutions. Good spot to swim in the lake. Este gave us a very warm welcome! The bar music went off at 21h. Highly recommended! Price camping 3600kw pp. 6 fresh eggs for 600kw.

We stayed 4 nights here on our way South and really liked it. Just about managed to fit our big-rig (7.5x2.5×3.5 LxWxH) in the gate but larger (especially taller) vehicles will struggle. Really friendly staff, great service (bring ice drinks to your camp), and the best ablutions we've seen in Africa so far.

Great place to swim in the lake. If possible try to camp away from the gate as there is a noisy local bar at the top of the road and many kids walking along the fence to the beach want your attention.

awesome relaxing camp, puts many to shame in better off countries, Very safe and hassle free as Malawi is, if you have kids this part of the lake is shallow enough for them to have fun as the lake bed goes out for a good 150m before it goes deep and it's clean and warm too, the campsite and ablutions are great, stayed nearly 2 weeks !!! wish I had a boat

What a warm welcome from Albert and Estee, we couldn’t have felt more welcome anywhere else. Lovely campsite right on the beach with the cleanest ablution blocks we have had on our trip. Their local knowledge was good, close to Livingstonia so could go up the mountain for a day. You must have Estee’s pancakes for breakfast simply delicious. Nice swimming on the beach. All campsites have power points and a wash up area.

We stayed 11 days as this camp is really beautiful and the people who run this place are very special and helpful with everything. We were able to buy beans, peppers and spinach from their garden. Locals are selling some veggies, bread and eggs across the street. Here it felt like home. The beach is beautiful, not to busy and the water. very clear. We came with our big rig. We highly recommend this place!

Campsite close to the main road and next to the beach. Great view. Camping on grass or sand under the trees. Electricity at each camping spot. As well as individual BBQ areas with own wash basin. Clean bathrooms with hot water. Easily accessible for any type of vehicle.
