Got exceptionally lucky with beautiful weather. Nice spot down by the lake, away from the main road, high clearance recommend, exposed should it be windy. The road to here had several good options with cliffs and rocks to give cover should the wind be blowing. Really beautiful/fun area to explore (but again we are having exceptional weather).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We got here with our Defender, but don’t think you will need 4wd in dry season.
We spent one night on this location, facing the “Arco de Piedra”, and it was a peaceful night, with an espetacular sky and no wind - I think we were lucky about the weather.
No facilities, no cellphone coverage.
Deixamos nosso caminhão na estrada e viemos caminhando até aqui, mas creio que seria possível chegar com ele aqui. Lindo a Arco de Piedra, e as cores nas montanhas. muito vento
Report Check-InStunning place and as windy as described. The road is ok in terms of grade but pretty bad quality gravel at points and punctured one of my tires (fairly new off-road tires) so be careful.
Report Check-Inroad down to the lake has been graded so it's not that bad. nice big flat area near the shore
Report Check-Inreally windy but with our van it didn't really matter.
stunning place when we had good weather in the morning.
don't know what the problem is with the last piece of road but at this time a normal car could got there.
Very cold and windy spot. Great views of the Arcon de Piedra.
Report Check-InAccess road partly steep and washed out. Not recommended when wet! But stunning view of the arc!
Report Check-InStunning view. Good weather. Clear water. We camped right here 1 night despite the wind.
Report Check-InWe came straight here from crossing at Paso Roballes. There is a little town just outside the lake on the way in you can stock up on groceries. Really nice lake but the wind arrived at 8:30 pm and didn't stop. Worth the effort.
Report Check-InVery beautiful spot, right on the lakeside with views of the stone arch. Some local day visitors from the village, but very quiet at night. To get here, follow the main track until about level with the site, then turn left down the 4x4 trail towards the lake, there is a small sign 'Arco de Piedra'. 4x4/high clearance is definitely recommended. No facilities. Free.
