Argentina
I crossed at this little port, easy and straightforward. The little boat takes around 10min to cross the river, make sure you check the schedule before going there, especially at the weekend it only goes few times a day, I attach the latest schedule and prices as picture.
For our van and 2 people they charged us 230 ARS plus 30 ARS port fee. Checking out of Argentina is right there (one window migration, one window Aduana) and once you made it to the other side, you get the immigration stamp for Brazil plus the Aduana papers.
The Aduana briefly had a look into the car on the Argentinian side, but no checks on the Brazilian side, no questions for yellow fever vaccine or car insurance and no copies needed. Really uncomplicated.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
super easy border for us coming from Brazil going to Argentina. no need for DDJJ or declaration jurada for us. really short control at the Argentinien customs. Payed 50 Reais for my MB Sprinter for the ferry.
Report Check-InA pain in the ass border to come into Argentina. Super heavy aduana !!!! Do not forget the "declaracion jurada" !!! for inmigration
Report Check-InUpdate going from Argentina to Brazil:
So after leaving Argentina (see other post) we crossed the river into Brazil. They guy there was also really confused about our car. We don't understand Portuguese, but it sounded as: 'You can't enter with a Chilean car'. Then his colleague said something like: 'They have the papers, it is allright'. So eventually we could enter Brazil. They guy made us a really weird paper about importing the car and the paper said we need to pay 50% tax over the price of the car (7000 BRL). Luckily they guy said we actually don't have to pay this. We are pretty sure this is not the correct TIP-paper of Brazil, but yeah... we made it to Brazil I guess? :')
Report Check-InReally confusing border. They didn't understand the rules of foreigners with a Chilean car (we have all the papers). They told us we are not allowed to drive in Argentina with this car. Eventually they let us leave Argentina (to Brazil), but told us we can't enter Argentina again via this border.
If you can go to another border where they see more foreigners.
