There are several nice sites along the gravel forest service road.

Several spots along FR568 and on FR206C that branches off to the left. The open area at the entrance tends to collect loud partiers on summer weekends.
206 is physically lower so cell reception may be tougher. The whole area is forested so it may be a challenge for solar-powered folks to catch enough sun but nicely shaded when trying to escape summer heat.
Both 568 and 206 are narrow with few opportunities for rigs to pass each other. Go slow and keep track of pull-outs in case you need to back up.
I've seen wild horses, mule deer, and heard (but not seen) an elk up here on previous years. Also many fossils. Mostly crinoids but I did find one mostly-complete ammonite about 2" across.
Report Check-InLovely camping spots through the woods, came here on Father’s Day and not noisy even though it’s quite busy
Report Check-InTried this with our truck camper. Tried to stay in the trailhead area but snow and angle of the road kept us from doing that. Would be better for a van-sized rig
Report Check-InTucked away and unbothered in the middle of what seemed like a blizzard to us. But we stuck it and camped in the snow. It was so beautiful.
Report Check-InGreat Forest road Camping! Many spots of the road. and it's starting to change into fall colors! nearby to the town for bathrooms, gas, and supplies.
Report Check-InEasy access for most any vehicle. Typical forest service road. Most spots as you first pull in and then some here and there as you get further in. There's a locked gate 1.2 miles in. Acceptable Verizon LTE but when you get back near the first cattle guard no signal
Report Check-InGreat spot, level ground and fire pit. Multiple places along road of varying size.
Report Check-InThere are several spots here along these forest service roads that are nice to camp. The closer you are to the main road the more it seems you have the big loud campers (big 5th wheels, generator on all night, lights on all night, showing off and cutting big trees with their big loud chain saws). Further in is quieter and possibly doable with larger rigs. Road is rocky compacted dirt, a little narrow at times. We saw many potential good spots along the two roads. 2 bars 4G for Verizon and also ATT.
Report Check-InA word of warning, this place is overrun on the summer weekends with loud in-vehicle boom boxes and ATVs roaring by. Nice during the week, but miserable Fri-Sun.
Report Check-InFree primitive camping good for one night unless you like cold weather. Need a heather because it went down to 33 F in the night. In the wood with high trees. Site is not leveled. 8800 ft altitude...
Great spot about a half mile down the road. Cell service works here too.
Report Check-InAwesome quite back woods road, 3 inches of snow when we rolled up but the road is flat enough for our 2wd e-150 to navigate just fine plenty of spots to pull off.
Report Check-InSome great primitive camping along the road. Hike to the end and find what appeared to be an old farm site.
