Latest Check-Ins

The park itself is huge, clean and well maintained. Many facilities and well used by the townspeople. Very dog friendly, lots of places to walk. The RV section has a few picnic tables and grills. Lots of trash barrels scattered around. When I needed to make a change to my reservation, I called City Hall and they were very kind and helpful. More traffic than we expected, seems like it’s a shortcut of sorts or something. The angle of the approach makes it awkward to back in and if it was full it would be almost impossible. Do not take your RV all through the park to get a better approach angle, there are many low hanging trees. In order to use the dump station you have to back in to it. ONLY 50 amp plugs, so 30 amp rigs will need an adaptor. Some sites are not level front to back or side to side, since the asphalt pads are all designed to be shared with another camper it was difficult to level and stay on your own side. Site #2 has a pole in the way of backing up all the way, so it is not as long as the website states. Site #9 has an overhanging tree, so may not work for taller rigs. I applaud the town of Shiner for creating this RV area and overall, I would stay again if I was in the area.

Beautiful park! Ducks, birds, lake and some fishing. There were lots of camping spaces. We called the city, number was indicated on site, reserved and payed the 30$ requested even though we don’t need electricity or water.

Very nice city park, level site, water & 20/30 amp service at our site #11. other looked like some other sites had a sewer hookup.
Beware, the 1st come 1st served policy apparently isn't a given any more.
we just showed up & called city hall to pay. The nice lady said we were in luck, a few sites hadn't been reserved yet and a busy weekend was coming up.
SO, call before you show up!
lots of activity around & a high school football game was going on. Thats expected from this city park but it's safe and very well kept. There's a curfew for the park so it should quiten down later tonight.
We paid $20 a night for water & electricity. There is a back in dump station West of the RV sites with a non potable water hose.
Update, All was good last night only problem was this morning at 7:30 am the school marching band starts practice 200 yards away. You don't need an alarm clock staying here. Next the grass mowers started mowing.
Just be forewarned if you plan on sleeping late during football season or when school is in this isn't the place to stay.

Report Check-In

We stayed 4 nights at this park, as I had a lot of work to get done. Small town with not to much else to see
besides the park and the brewery. The police officer (Officer Kelley) who met us on the weekend was very friendly and helpful. Lots of activity in the park: walkers, tennis, fishing, baseball game, locals driving through, etc., though people kept to themselves. 12 sites, all for RV/trailers, not tenting. $20 a night for full hook-up, quiet at night, and only a handful of campers each evening.
