Something not right?

Description

Right next to Playa Negra, in front of soccer field. We stayed there two nights in a row and nobody asked a question. 5 meters from the ocean;) there is also a campground nearby (500 m). Good for tents too.

We parked here for two nights during the week. It was very quiet both during the day and at night, we couldn’t hear any music from the bars and noone bothered us. Kids were playing soccer in the park and their coach introduced himself, said welcome, and said we were fine to be parked here. The beach is beautiful and there is a lot of wildlife around 👍

So I would no stay here 4 am gad a guy stop on peddle bike and start walking around van and looking in windows. I yelled at him and he started asking for money… telling me he owned the land. I knew better he would not leave. So I got out with a long metal pipe and LED very bright light. I put the light on him and showed the pipe… he backed off and then I saw he was hiding a large kitchen knife in his hand. Holding it behind his arm so I could t see it. I said screw this… got back in van and drove off. Not advisable to stay here.

Got here on Sunday afternoon (2 pm). It was too crowded and music blaring so decided to try out the wild camp spot just north of here. That was crowded and fill too. Do not count on these spots on tge weekend. Too crowded and loud.

First night was terrible loudly with very high music until 4am. But second night was very very quiet. So if there is some many music just a the restaurant hotel just next. Skip this place and come back later.

Parked on the grass area next to a few restaurants. There was another camper parked next to us. Across from a soccer field. Nice spot and free.

we spent one night here under a tree for some shade. it was extremely hot so we opened one of the back doors of the van for ventilation, which we have done throughout Mexico and Central America and so far haven't had any issues. we were woken by someone directly behind the van with a torch, right next to where we were sleeping. we scared him off and closed the doors for the night. this place is right next to the road so you are in complete view of people driving past or walking on the beach.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits sur ce spot, endroit idéal pour se baigner, accès au resto et au parc Cahuita à moins de 5 minutes.

We spent 3 nights on this spot, ideal place for swimming, access to the restaurant and Cahuita park less than 5 minutes away.

it could be a nice spot to stay one night but we just went a little farer, just before Maria camping and stayed on the beach, in the sand. It s a lot better, very quiet, no facilities but you can go in the woods !!!!
And before to arrive in Cahuita you have a long beach parallel to the road but separate with trees, and this is a huge spot where you can stay also.

Report Check-In

Dropped around this spot after visiting Cahuita park and enjoying a late lunch at Aroma Coffee Bar (highly recommend this cafe!) Lovely flat patch of cut grass beside the beach. Entertained by the surfers and guys playing soccer on the field. Locals pass by on the road and wave. The Reggae Bar down the road is featuring live music tonight on a Friday, but all we hear is the patter of rain on the roof. Great community vibe here.
