Mexico
El Chico National Park visitor center.
We had a hard time finding information on this park until we got to this visitor center. They were able to provide us with more information like hikes, camping, maps etc.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Disappointing experience. Toilets are MX $5. People moderately friendly but all they do direct you towards the map. They didn't even let us inside tbe building saying that it's all just offices.
Outside there is an old map which you can barely read.
Report Check-Invisitor centre was open at 10 p.m.
but no official around, so the entrance was free. normally 43 peso.
The information on the signs on the way are not correct. but the distance at the main board are. make a foto before entering the park and enjoy the day.
Report Check-InAs described before. The building is empty, the outside map is all you need.
The park is nice but organisation ridiculous. The distance information during the hikes change randomly. Everything feels more like people playing nationalpark rangers than everything else. The only thing that is really important is collecting the entrance fee. (Still 43 pesos).
Report Check-InNo worth a visit. The building is empty.. If you want information on the hikes, check the maps uploaded as photos. They now ask $43p for park entry. Hiking is great though!
Report Check-InMaps with routes are hanging out- and inside the building. We hiked to Peno el Cuervo and Peno La Muela on the way back and it took us 5,5h. You’ll hike down the most part to get to the valley before going up to Peno el Cuervo. Not all crossings are well marked. Park entry 36 pesos pp for hikers. Dogs allowed on a leash on all trails.
