really nice spot for the night! had no issues in our ford transit van. very windy and dusty, basically had to do a full cleaning of the van after lol. but you can't beat the view of stars! noise/traffic from road and campsite nearby was not an issue at all. was also pretty clean!
Report Check-InI stayed a bit down the road from this location. My intention was to stay at the Parks Campground, but the road looked a bit more than what I was up for, so I ended up finding a spot along the way. After you turn right off of the highway, there is this spot straight ahead before the no camping sign. An RV was already at this spot. I turned left before the sign and a short distance down the road I found the perfect spot, complete with stone fire ring. It is close to the highway so you do hear some noise, also had a decent number of vehicles passing down the dirt road to reach the campground. This spot still seemed very private & was easily accessible. I stayed Thursday - Monday with no issues. Great views of the mountains as well.
Report Check-InGreat location right off freeway with pretty level gravel roads getting in. Seems you can go quite far back.
Probably about 8 others dispersed in the areas off to the right snd left of the road leading in.
Gorgeous sunset off the mountains.
Other reviews said ignore the No Camping sign so I did as did others.
nice area not too far off highway 62. stayed 2 nights in 31ft 5 th wheel. several other tent, van and campers all stayed.

Report Check-InStayed here overnight on our 25ft TT. There is a no camping sign and a sign saying "no camping beyond this point" (see pic). We arrived around 6pm and there was a small area that 2 other RVs who had just arrived had parked side by side in. We went ahead and parked in front of and the the left of the no camping sign. Called BLM in the morning and were told none of that area is allowable to park in. I spoke with Tracy from BLM and she stated that once you take a right after MM 10 to take the road on the left (parallel to the hwy) and once you go over another cattle guard take that right, follow it down 1.5 mile to the Park Campground. We went ahead and parked there since we are staying a few days. Some of the road is narrow but we were able to get back there no problem. I would hesitate with anything much larger than 27ft. First two pics are MM 10 and last pic is designated campground.
Report Check-InAs explained, BLM area with no amenities but far enough from the road to be quiet.
Report Check-InCamping on BLM Land just below Carlsbad Caverns National Park. A dirt road turn off to the East from National Park Highway 180 100 yards south of Rattlesnake Springs junction. There are at least 10 campsites along the road and some more Campers around even in Big Rigs. The place is very private and quiet if you drive far enough down the 2 WD dirt road.
