Pull off just before the pink house with the dome, next to the beach. We stayed here off and on for over a week. It’s quiet and there are no bugs.

We stayed here for two nights. Super chill and tranquil. Nice security guard named David told us it is okay to camp here, but the land has been bought and there are plans to develop in the near future. Some locals showed up for Semana Santa to camp our second night as well. Make sure your rig is mosquito proof. Got swarmed right before sundown each night. Dog friendly. All the security guards are super friendly and helpful (they are hired to patrol the area for the new resort going in and they did extra checks to make sure we were safe.). Recommended small car with decent clearance. Road is a bit tight in spots and there are mini “cenotes” on the way in. You must pass a security gate on the way in. They just waved us through, but if questioned I would tell the name of one of the hotels, like Grand Residences. Recommended to bring supplies. Town is a 40 minute walk.
Report Check-InYou have to pass a security guard a while before this spot as there are many hotels. Then, the road is dirt with huge holes where water stays for a long time if it had rain. Arrived at the spot, went a little farther than the grassy area and got stuck in our AWD Honda Element. Slept below on a uneven place. Beware of the red ants and the mosquitoes. Wouldn’t go there again.
Report Check-Inwe arrived at that spot which really looks nice and decided to have just a quick beer on the beach before setting up the camp. we did not close the camper van as we felt (too much) safe and we would go for 10 min only. when we came back we discovered that our phone was stolen (weirdly only the phone while we had computers too) and there was a machete stuck in the ground just on the side of the passenger door. maybe we are too paranoid but we decided to leave. for me it sounded like a warning message : go out. Thanks
e spot in town (beach parking) with the free WiFi is clearly doing the job with more safety.
