I went today and at first they refused to sell me gas (nb: there is a shortage at the moment in Bolivia). but after some negociation, we manage to get 8 liter in a bidon for 5bob/lt

They are not selling neither Gas nor Diesel to foreigners.

the employee saw our plate (Argentina) and automatically says "don't have gasoline, just diesel". of course was a lie. bad, bad person. in a cuople gas station was the same thing. we argue but they are like that. don't care if you can continue. for lucky we had enough gas to get Putre.

they would only sell at international price and advised us to go to town to get it cheaper. also, not possible to get gas in jerrycans, only in the tank.

I was told that they don't have gasoline at the moment. Not sure if it's true. Have a german license plate.

Started off at internacional price but son dropped to 6Bol for petrol. I only needed 20l just in case so didn't bother pushing and after the border crossing I was so wound up I just wanted to get out of there.

Started with 8.88 quickly went down to 7. Did the ole walk away, and the attendant approached us and finally agreed to 5.

This has happened several times to us, don't be afraid to walk away! The price magically goes down.

Impossible to get fuel ar tourist price, they didn't have the machine to do the billing.
I asked the chief and he offered 5 bols/litres. I said yes, of course..
