Description

Macros is an old city of the Chachapoyas. You can reach it by crossing the river at this point by an old (slightly scary-looking) cable car. Daniel, the guy living across the river, was an excellent guide, with profound knowledge of the local flora and fauna and the old culture of the Chachapoyas. We even got some bananas and a free tour of his gardens. We really liked it!

it is a special place with a replica house of the Chachapoyas culture, with 2 rooms for rent, each including private bathroom. Very nice.
