Description

Very nice place. Camping 8$pppn. Restaurant and bar.
Several camping spots for tents and for trucks next to the beach.
Can be busy (around 30 guest total when we arrived).
Shower hot between 6pm and 8pm, clean enough.
Wifi free at reception but too far from camping spot.
Several activities available at quite high prices though.
Really worth a visit.

Latest Check-Ins

Could be a nice place, the beach is nice, campsite K has a good view directly above the beach. But everything is run down. Abolutions were relatively clean, but almost no water, impossible to get a proper shower.
Bar had very limited drinks, no mojito or other cocktails, only beer or gin tonic. Pool was green, not inviting. Not worth 10 US$ppn.
What a pitty that no one seem to care properly or does some maintenance at a place that otherwise could be beautiful.

Great place! Had the campsite to ourselves for 3 nights. Clean ablutions, bonus to have a powerpoint and banda at each campsite. Delicious seafood at restaurant! Wifi was broken but you can find some spots with decent Vodacom 4G signal. Enjoyed the crystal clear pool - can recommend.

Very cool spot! All the basics you need. Power at camp site. Crystal blue pool right in beach, with fresh water shower. Ablutions big. Bar at pool makes nice mojitos. Wifi on request. Nice beach. Would highly recommend

Nice place with lots of trees and shade for each spot. it's more then 20years old so everything is a bit rundown. toiletdoors maybe dont close, watertaps and shelter-roofs leaking etc. but still nice vibe, toilets clean (as long as only few guests), each campingspot has a sheltered area (banda) with light and own electricity (!).

bar with nice seating- and restingarea, nice restaurant. small pool. as the tide can be out almost the whole day, dont expect to swim in the ocean. during our stay the sea was rough and dirty, lots of plastic and seagrass on the shoreline but staff even tried to clean up a bit. good restaurant next door neighbourhood (3min walk) called "capricorn" with woodfire pizza and indian-swahili food at reasonable prices. camping is still 8$/pppn.

Lovely beachside camping under big trees. There is an A-frame shelter for each campsite, which has a light and electrical switch. Ablutions are ok, just a lot of mosquitos in them. There is a restaurant, bar with nice seafood, and a pool which is useful if the tide is out. The sea is like bathwater in December, very warm. $8pppn with 2.5% surcharge if you pay by card.

This is a lovely quiet campsite right on the beach. Each pitch has a thatched gazebo with light and electric point. The showers are clean with Western toilet, cold water shower (but it was very hot so not a problem for us) while we were there but also had a banda opened up for us and that had a super fab hot shower for an hour every evening if you wanted. Lovely bar and restaurant area with clean swimming pool overlooking the beach. We didn't eat as cooked for ourselves but menu was really good price and nice choices. Lovely beach and sea clear and warm to swim in when tide is high. We stayed 3 nights 8USD pppn, only cash when we were there as card machine away being fixed.

For us this place felt like paradise. Absolute relaxing and great campingsites facing the ocean. If the WiFi doesnt work, you only have to tell the staff, that they can upgrade their bundle - and they will :)! The ocean ist very flat, so we enjoyed the Pool for cooling down!

Still 8$ pppn incl. electricity. Ablutions were not as bad as mentioned in pervious comments (our opinion)...

Very nice campsite at the shores of the Indian Ocean. 3 campsites are in the front row, facing the Ocean, which are the best spots. Shades on most sites. $8/pppn, including electricity(!). Restaurant serves fairly good food with very reasonable prices. Nice, little pool. We relaxed here for 6 (!) nights, one of the few campsites we’ve spent the longest time in. Ablutions are ok, a bit run down and mostly cold water (but in temps around +30C that is not a problem ;)
Can get very windy, though. Friendly staff.

The place is OK but as we are travelling during a very quiet time we had the campsite to ourselves otherwise if the other pitches were in use it would feel a little cramped. We had one meal which was really nice but ate it at our campsite and not in the restaurant. Restaurant and bar were fine ... just a little soulless as empty:)We had the beach front pitch which had power and stayed two nights. Still 8usd pppn. Staff were friendly, ablutions are a little rustic but lovely hot water with some decent pressure! Yes, it’s a little salty but we are next to the ocean.

Report Check-In

We were lucky enough to stay on campsite K, the only one at the beach. Rest of the campsite was not too great. Long walk to ablution block, which was smelly and really need an update. There is hot water in the evening though. Nice pool area and chill zones. Price is indeed $8pppn

Report Check-In

Lovely camp spot especially if on ocean front. Pool and lounge area is great, a couple of nice hanging daybeds to while away the day. A bit of a walk to ablutions, which from outside are not impressive but in fact dry clean and functional with hot water just salty. Pity there is no tap near camping, only at ablution area

Report Check-In

Very nice and well organized place. Camping next to the beach with our big car was possible.

Report Check-In

Very nice and beautiful place! You can take a bandas or you can camp. It’s on two different sides of the place with the bar and restaurant in the middle. So that’s nice. We stood almost at the beach. Very hot showers, only salt water so take your own for drinking.
Nice swimmingpool and good English speaking staff. Still $8 per person.

Best one in Tanzania so far! Beautiful location with sand beach, lots of couches, hammocks and a pool (that anyone there can use). Not the best food but good enough. 8$ pppn for camping, electricity included. WiFi in dining house, although it varies in speed and so on. Hot and good showers! Very nice owners and personnel. They have lots of activities that you can book for the next day so you could definitely stay for a while here. Some other campers and backpackers here as well if you want to meet some people.
