Description

Nice State Park near Roswell. $10 for tent site with shelter, table & water & pit Toilets. Also area in park for hookups with showers (Lea Lake, reservation-only, $14-$18/night plus $4 reservation fee 9/2021). Showers might be seasonal. They were not operational when I was here, 5/7/19. Showers are outside showers.

Unique camping around the sinkhole lakes. And bonus of a refreshing larger lake for a swim on a hot day that stays at 65F.
$10 for no hookups, though they said you could reserve hookups, but on line only

Report Check-In

Cool spot in a series of several small sink hole lakes. A few of the tent sites are in nice spots but no beach. The RV camp is right by the day use and beach area. Showers, water and dump. Good Verizon LTE and I show WiFi but didn't try. An oasis in the desert near Roswell 👽

Pretty nice established campground at Lea Lake. Sites have full hookups and Lea Lake is perfect for kayaking or paddle boarding. We did wish there was more to see with the lakes, as it only took us about 30 minutes to see all of them, but it’s close to Roswell and the alien themed stuff was fun for the day!

We stayed in D5 of the non reservation spots, and it was great! Right at the bottom of a little canyon to explore, clean pit toilets, covered picnic table, water nearby. $10 a nite, great cell service on Verizon, quiet at night.

1/15-1/16/22 Spent 2 nights camped here. Great spot. There are RV spots and Tent sites. There are a couple short hikes to the various ponds and lakes. Great views overlooking Roswell, NM and close to. 10 to 20 min drive to town. About hour to hour and half from Billy the Kids grave/Fort Sumner. Also doesn’t hurt your about 2 hours from Carlsbad Caverns/Guadeloupe mountains, and 3 hours from white sands national park. 10 per night for tent/car camping.

water at each camp site. great sunset views and take a walk to the small lakes.
tmobile and at&t work well

nice park, nice host. this is the 2nd time we have stayed here. the flies are horrible but nice lake to dive. only 5 sites have dump at site and not all sites have 50 amp.

Report Check-In

Reservations only pull-thru spots at Lea Lake Campsite, online at park website…same day is fine. Spot 24 is closest to lake and restrooms. Showers are outside restrooms, beach showers, and they look cold if they even work at all…the place seems seasonal, and the dock is off limits/empty in September.

A hidden gem. In the reserved area campsites are large. Have shade structures, picnic tables, grills, 30 amp electric and water. Dump station on site. Our site #24 was right next to the lake. Awesome swimming, kayaking, etc! Big rig friendly. No problem with our 40 foot fifth wheel.

Nice campground. First come sites were full but many res only sites available and can be booked same day. $14 for elec and water. $18 for full.

Nice little State Park with nice sized campsites. Bathrooms by the sites with hookups have showers. Also has some amenities at the lake there. Made a great basecamp for exploring the area.

Report Check-In

Great spot, easy camping. This time of year the showers were not working. Keep this in mind. There was not any crowds.
Again, this time of year seemed like a good time to crash here. No showers working when I was here.

Very nice campground and camp hosts. Uploaded more photos.

Beautiful Park with a lake for swimming, trails, developed campsites with no electric, reservable campsites with electric some with sewer, and some first come first serve sites. A large day use area, a playground for the kiddos, a volleyball court, and very reasonably priced.

Report Check-In

$10 for big campsite with no water or electric, self check in. $12 for a site with water, $14 for water + electric. The Lea Lakes campsite has hot showers & a dump site.

The downside is that the entire state park reeked of manure. Very very stinky. Be warned !

Report Check-In

Its only okay. $5 per day entry, no paper maps available. Ranger was present at the visitor center but had it locked during scheduled hours. I'm not impressed, but it would be an okay place to cool off in the heat if you can find unofficial parking.

Report Check-In

Self pay station for late arrivals. Found a spot along figure eight lake. Basic amenities. Very quiet.

10$ without hookups or 14$ with. Flush toilets and cold showers next to a lake. Good place just outside Roswell and no light pollution if you want to look for aliens ;)
