Free potable water in the north end of the visitor center parking lot. Spigot box unlocked when visitor center open.
Second spigot with thread by restrooms, available at all hours but requires a long hose.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Came here twice after business hours and there was nobody. Refilled on water and also recharged some devices in the bathroom
Report Check-InThe faucet by the bathroom doesn't have a handle. Found the one across the parking lot and filled my containers at 7pm on a Saturday night.
Report Check-InWater spigot in parking lot attached to a sign that says “Regulations: 3-minute parking for fill station only. Use water by restrooms after business hours.”
Report Check-InThis place is not closed. The water box is in the parking lot on the main road side, opposite the parking lot from the bathrooms. While the visitors center has moved, the gift shop is open regularly, bathrooms are always open and water doesn’t seem to be locked anymore. The short, paved trail is also always open and dog friendly (pick up after your dogs ppl) but a lovely stroll. Definitely worth a stop.
Report Check-InTook me a second to find. Look across the parking lot from the restrooms and down to the north a little bit. You’ll see a sign say fill station. It’d there. Water has good pressure.
Report Check-InIt’s back in working order. Padlock is removed during visitor center business hours. Sign says to use spigot by restrooms during non-business hours.
Report Check-InThis is open again! The pump in the parking lot area, opposite the building, is unlocked and functioning as of today!
Spoke to a ranger who told me there was an issue in the area with a burst pipe resulting in this station not getting water, but as of this morning, January 12th 2023 the spigot is open, repaired and functioning as normal.
Please remove marked as closed indicator.
Report Check-Inwater spigot says "out of order" and there's a new-looking lock preventing access. spigot by the bathroom is too far to fill onboard tank and it looks like they've removed the handle to prevent access. I'll try the McDonald's and report back.
Report Check-InVisitor center is open but the box has a padlock and an “Out of Order” sign. Spigot by the bathroom has no handle.
Report Check-Innice place to fill up water. lock was still unlocked on the water box.
Report Check-Insince the visitor center moved, this is no longer locked, ever. and there's a spigot by the bathroom as well.
Report Check-InOne of the few water fills out here that has a threaded tap that is easy to get close to fill larger onboard tanks.
Report Check-InFree potable water! No complaints! We were there mid day on a Tuesday and it was open.
Report Check-InBox is locked when the center closes (5 pm during this time of year). There is water further down on the right by the bathrooms. Standard threaded spigot. Handle is missing, use pliers.
Report Check-InFree water! Nice fill up station. Bring hose. Was unlocked during the day
Report Check-InFree potable water with threaded tap, easy Access straight on your left when you enter the parking lot
Report Check-InWater spigot is located in the parking lot, opposite to the restrooms.
Standard threaded spigot. Bring own hose if you need it. There is a board saying 3minute limit (perhaps parking only allowed for 3 mins). I was able to pull in on my truck with 20ft camper and fill up in about 5mins. Water pressure is good.
Had a little trouble finding water elsewhere in the 29 Palms/ J Tree area without going into the park and stopping at the ranger station— but there’s a standard threading spigot on the left side of the carpark when you drive in, and it screwed right onto our hose! Filled up our entire 40g tank for a long week of exploring.
Report Check-InWater is flowing. This visitor center is open more days and times than the 29 Palms Visitors Center.
Report Check-InWater, trash and recycling. Pretty fast fill. 3 min parking only in front of the tap
Report Check-InFree portable water is now working. Good pressure. Hose hook up/spigot
Report Check-InPerfect place to fill our water tank. It’s right at the parking, you can park in front of it and connect your hose to fill up your freshwater
Report Check-InAt visitor center. Much more accessible than the ranger station at the western entrance. pull right up to spigot.
Report Check-InI would suggest it is locked when the visitor's office is closed. They are open 8am-5pm.
Report Check-Infree water. available when the visitor center is available. 3 minute parking for rigs. also a tap by restrooms for water containers. got 52 gallons without any issues. tastes good too
Report Check-InWe passed by on 3/14/2019 and the box is now unlocked. Also across the parking lot from there is a fountain to fill for drinking water.
Report Check-InNot closed. You can get water from the spigot at the parking lot.
Report Check-InWater still available if drive into information center carpark will be on one side away from the information center building
Report Check-Inpotable water was closed, was there at 6:45 in July not sure if time of day or season but no luck here or nearby spigot. ended up at Indian camp ground for water
Report Check-InFree potable water in the north end of the visitor center parking lot.
