Puno (Lake Titicaca) | Warning

We find a place and quiet place to sleep for a night. Our first night in Puno, Around 5am a policeman ... drunk, tried to open our door ... i woke up and tried to scares him, I opened the glass and I turned to him ... He pretended, saying that some neighbor complaited of us and asked us to leave ... to avoid more confusion we just left the place and parked in a more busy place.

Changed location so the warning is more visible...it was hiding under a hotel icon.

Stopped on a road and had flashers on while spouse did some errands. Tourist police warned me to not leave the van alone at any time in Puno

We confirm. We were parked at hostal vista al Lago with security camera and someone broke into our truck camper they stole us all our video equipment and more!!

I can confirm this! We parked our car in the center and were gone for 1 hour. When we returned we saw that they tried to break into our car! Luckily they didn't get in but the lock was forced. Great on our first day in Peru :( Beter be safe and park in a secured parking lot!!!

DANGEROUS- multiple robberies (passports, electronics, luggage) in tourist areas in mid-day; car break-ins as well. Beware of all of Puno, robbers know tourist activity schedules.
