Something not right?

Description

Camping in the large parking lot, we had a nice space next to a small stream. They close the gate around 5:00 so very tranquil after that. We stayed 2 nights for 20,000/ night (included entrance to the falls, parking and camping). Flush toilets no paper, no WiFi, no cell signal for us. No shower, we bathed in the river. No running water, we used the stream. Bring enough potable water for your stay. We really liked it here and the river is fun to swim in. Hiking trail to see the upper falls. (8 pretty well behaved dogs live here, don’t know if they allow your dog)

Best to approach this location from Mariquita. You can come from the other direction but it ‘s a rocky road that requires some clearance. It was fun but our transit is awd with extra clearance. It’s 7 km of dirt/rock road. The campsite is next to the bridge, owner is Carlos. On the IOverlander map it is at the same location as the milk collection point. Spot has wifi at the shower point but the camp site is just out of reach. Swimming hole under the bridge or 300 meters upstream.

Camping is actually at the tourist attraction icon. 10pp to enter and 15k for the vehicle to camp. We turned up late afternoon and they charged us 15k to camp and 20k entrance for to the next day, saying we would stay till 5pm. Could probably negotiate just for camping if you want to go early, or don’t want to visit the falls. Also sold us a garafon for 10k. Super quiet, even on Saturday. Little stream is nice and clean even after rain. Sandflies are no joke though.

a nice quiet and safe place. 150 m away a café, WiFi, toilets, showers and bathing area. During the week I was alone here. A small gift, Yaver also helps with gas or water. Thanks

Una reserva natural del río Medina en Mariquita Tolima, en el río más limpio con unas cataratas y laguna para descansar, hay zona nudista.
