Latest Check-Ins

Slept here in our tent. There is space for one big or two small tents in that pit where the ground is heated by mother earth. At night we had an outside temp of -16°C, inside the tent it was -3°C. The soil heats it up pretty well. A bit of wind protection inside that pit.
We struggled with the altitude although we did acclimatize.

we spent the night at the sol de manana geysers parking lot. even at night in summer temperatures drop below zero. if you tolerate altitude well this is the ideal spot to see the geysers early in the morning. the tourist guides arrive at 6:30 a.m. and around 9 a.m. there is no one there. no tourist visits during the day but at the end of the afternoon there are tours again.

If u come here by bicycle use the marked location. The floor is really warm at night and I started to sweat. The wind might be an issue, I had worse on other places along the lagunas route. Cool experience to camp so high with a warm tent.
the only downside is the sand, which gets blown everywhere.

Slept in the geyser parking lot. It was very cold and windy and the altitude was the highest I’ve slept so it was a restless night. Tour groups start arriving at 5:45 am.

We slept here and it was our coldest night ever !
- 12°C. If you can take many hot cloth/blanket !
Practical to have access to toilet all the time.
Be careful about the zorros (little fox) they are aggressive and come especially when you’re cooking.

We wanted to spend the night here next to the abandoned house, all the tourist went home before sunset and the wind also calmed down in the late evening. Unfortunately I had a bad case of altitude sickness since it’s 4900+m so we left around midnight and went to the canyon spot near laguna colorada. But if you don’t have this problem it’s a nice place for the night.

Great place and worth to overnight here even though very cold and high up. Before 6 am you have the place for yourself so get up early. No facilities, no reception

We slept here in our motorhome for one night (next to the géiser where tourists trucks parks). Nice and quiet place, but really cold. Here you are at 4.900 msnm. We get up at 6am to enjoy the géiser without wind (at the same time the tourists starts to arrive).
NOTICE: At 8am the géiser doesn’t look the same, so we recommend get up early. It worst it 😀

We stayed with our van here. Very cold and quiet at night.

50m from the geysers there is an old building for some wind protection. Inside is full of human poo but in front is good and maybe the only safe place for pitch a tent. Not really cold night "water on my bike wasn't frozen" and awesome sunrise even is full of tourist
