Description

uPublic Campsite next to the old Chyulu gate of the Tsavo West Nationalpark, which is worth a visit if you love small and quiet parks. The landscape is beautiful, the wildlife mediocre. The campsite itself is spacious and we had it all to ourselves. Every spot has a wooden shade and a fireplace. The ranger took very good care of us, opended the water reservoir for the cold shower and they had a flush toilet. It is a nice little bush experience there.
They have another public Campsite in the north close to Mtito Andei Gate which is completely abandoned. Only elephants still visit.

As described by others a lovely little bush camp near chyulu gate. The caretaker was helpful filled up the water and made us a nice fire.

The waterpump is currently broken so when we arrived the caretaker Nicholas offered for us to camp in his garden. We are so glad we did! He has a small waterhole next to his house and the leopard came by at 4am, wow! We had dinner together and enjoyed the conversation. There are clean flushing toilets (2 squatting and one seated) and lots of fresh water from the spring. The google marker is correct for the camp but not for Chyulu Gate. We recommend going to the rhino sanctuary if you’re coming from that way. But you should leave by 5:15pm to make it to camp before dark.

Nice campsite with cold showers and flushing toilet. The roofs are great for sun and rain. There is a lot to explore from here. We even saw a leopard just 2 km from the campsite. During the night a hyena crossed the campsite. Just beware of the ticks that were everywhere in the high grass. Crossing to the toilets and our legs were full of them.

Modern toilet with hot shower. Roads paved accessible with small cars.

Report Check-In

Basic, very quiet after a busy weekend, manager gathered wood for big fire.

Report Check-In

Just fine as a wild camp. Nice staff willing to help.

We were pleasantly surprised after the last review. Ablutions have seen better days, but there is running water and a working flushing toilet. Shaded sites available, with fire pits and braai. Camp manager opened up the water taps for us, and provided plenty of firewood. Good spot to stay if you come from Amboseli, close to some of the highlights in the area.

Report Check-In

In bad condition. No water. Nobody around. Is just camping in the wild without facilities.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Each campsite has a braai and covered area. The shower was cold. But refreshing at midday. Camp manager provided us with ample firewood. Lots of different birds around and small animals. An elephant also came to visit during the night. In terms of the park, we found both the landscape and wildlife to be exceptional with sightings of leopard, a cheetah kill and wild dogs with pups. Definitely worth the visit.

Report Check-In

Fixes rates at 20 $ pppn payed at the entrance to the NP. Site is not fenced and the guards sleeps approx 1 km from the sites.

Report Check-In

Decent campsite, no ranger when we were there. Spacious and close to the wildlife areas.
