Municipal camping, trees and shade, tables and seats, showers and toilets. The guy said 50/tent + 20/person. The soil is pretty hard, not sure our tunnel tent would hold here. Anyway we decided to cycle further.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

November 1st. 2023.
Still closed for renovations.
Google maps shows another campsite in the town but that does not exist either.
The Camping in closed right now, because the bathroons are not working (they’re without eletricity and water).
Report Check-InMunicipal camping is closed for maintenance of restrooms. They said that we can't stay overnight here.
Está fechado para manutenção, não permitiram pernoitar.
Report Check-InStopped here for a hot shower. hot and with good pressure.
asked for a tip, we gave 300pesos for 2p.
Still open. We did not stay here because there are enough free places to park in Calingasta if you are selfsufficient. We parked next to the large statue of Christ for 2 night. Very nice view and sunsets.
Report Check-InHad the campsite to ourselves (on a weekday mid April). Paid 800 pesos for 2 (500 for the vehicle, 150 per person). Large, level spots. BBQs, concrete tables and chairs available. Bathrooms are okay (no toilet seat, but relative clean + hot showers). A lot of (kind) dogs and cats.
