Description

Really nice campsite on a small winery. Every site has large grassy area, perfectly cut plus a hard standing to park on, each has shady trees plus a covered area with sink and bin, electric and light. Hedging between site is tastefully done in grape growing vines. Each site also has a large braii pit.
Great bar at back of site.
Price was ZAR250 for two people plus vehicle. Very friendly owner and staff, it's about 3km from turning on N7, the gravel road is good but can get busy with farm vehicles, this was not a problem. This is the best option for camping along this area of the N7, don't miss it. Good wines too

Latest Check-Ins

Very good stopover. We were initially worried about the road noise that people had reported but honestly we hardly heard anything. Nice big grass campsite. Rowley was super helpful in getting us set up. Nice pool and bar to relax at as well. Ablutions were ok. We would definitely stop here again.

Report Check-In

ZAR 330 for 2 persons and a bushcamper. Nice spots, clean ablutions and a friendly owner.

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night - they let me kindly check in at lunchtime already.

Signal at the campsite is not reliable. Especially because of that there should be wifi available. That is nowadays a necessity…

Be prepared for loadshedding, there is no solar backup system in place.

Otherwise all working and clean, including ablutions and pool. Fantastic water pressure !

A couple of sun beds and umbrellas around the pool would be nice …

Bring your own firewood. The firewood they sell are 15 micro pieces for 45 rand.

Perfect place to chill on fluffy green grass and to a bit of cleaning.

200 Rand pppn

I personally enjoyed more my stay at Bulshoekfarm Accommodation 20 km south …

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot, Sparkz is a great host. Chalets, camping, bar, pool and braai are all available and worth the stop over.

Report Check-In

Now ZAR200 ppn and Wifi is not for guests anymore. Road nearby very noisy, staff not very helpful. Do not recommend.

Back here again two years after our first visit and it's still one of the best! Mike (Sparky) was involved with overland trucks and knows what campers want and don't like - and it shows. Well done for keeping up the high standards but sorry we missed seeing you on this latest visit. R150 pppn which is great value. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

As mentioned already. Fantastic place and highly recommended.

Report Check-In

We confirm all previous reviews: a great place to stay one night or longer.
Free wifi available at bar/pool and campsites areas.
Mike/Sparky, the owner, is a Toyota driver … but a Land Rover lover !

Report Check-In

Everything has already been mentioned. Very welcoming host, nice campsites with shade, electricity, water and braai. Extremely clean pool and ablution. Friendly staff.
Unfortunately wine tasting, shop and bar was not available when we have been here.
We paid 300 Rand for 2 with our car.

all the good reviews about this place are true. the owner and his family are very good and friendly hosts. The camping is carried out with great commitment and care; places are clean, bathrooms clean, hot water at any time of the day. All surrounded by grapes and good people. I highly recommend this place! PS. Big rig friendly!

Second time here, always a perfect place. Campsite, pool, ablutions, wine, hosts - just perfect. Hopefully we can meet again.

Awesome green grassy campsite. Such a treat after Sandy Namibia! Pool and bar/restaurant with amazing views over the vineyards and mountains.
Friendly welcoming hosts.

Report Check-In

Very friendly owner, very nice place, sites with own kitchen and privacy
I really recommend this place

Report Check-In

As already mentioned, Mike (Sparky) is an excellent host. His wife (Hope) and him have built a great place for overlanders amongst the vineyards; built by overlanders for overlanders. Mike is extremely knowledgable about the region and can give you great advice. If you’re more outdoorsy, either he or his family can share some local trails for cycling, running or walking (we’re sure there are other hidden talents in this awesome family, too!).

Report Check-In

Great campsite, the perfect stop on the N7 between Cape Town and the Nam border. Built by an overlander, for overlanders. Super friendly and helpful owner, Sparky. Shady, grassy campsites. Lovely swimming pool. Braai pit with wood available for sale. Wine tasting. Big rig friendly.

Report Check-In

Pulled in late in the evening coming north to south. Phoned ahead and Mike had lit a welcoming fire. Great campsites, with electric and water. Amazing pub and swimming pool, chalets too. We highly recommend you stop here. Mike’s a great host. Will come back here soon from Cape Town and will bring mountain bike/s for some trails in the mountains!

Report Check-In

The perfect stop while going up North (or south) along the N7, very neat, nice grassy camping spots, and what a view !!!
Very nice, helpful owner...who was overlanding himself, so full of knowledge
We will be back !!!!

Report Check-In

Highlands campsite was started by Mike (Sparky - he's an electrician by trade) & his wife Hope after they had both worked on overland trucks. They know what overlanders want and it shows in their great facilities, how it's laid out and maintained. This is a top class place and worth every cent of the R150 pppn we paid for camping. A great stop over just off the N7 for those going north or south from/to Cape Town.

Report Check-In

Clean well maintained camp sites on a very small but cute grassy campsite on the owners property.

Came here as a stop over but stayed an extra night.

The pool and friendly dogs make this a welcoming place to stay

Report Check-In

What a pleasure staying here.
Very clean ablutions and neat camp site.
Friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Stopped in to have a look, it's lovely. They do cater for overlanders in separate camps but also have a few private sites with power points, wash up facilities and beautiful views. Very decent ablutions.
Great pool and bar area and a brand new springbok camp to keep you occupied while you taste their local wines.

Report Check-In

Great campsite. All As main description. Didn’t see any braai pits but we were offered a braai on checking in 👍. Only downside is some noise from N7 and local road but no big deal. Oh and overland truck trips call here most nights; we joined in with their wine tasting 😎.
