Description

The real Olla hotel is located in a quiet part of town. Parking for cars is on the street under the tree but the bikes were allowed to stand behind the gate in the tiny courtyard. Paid SP5000 for a double bed room. Basic hotel, hard bed and no WiFi. We were here during the riots on December and this part of town was quiet. The big hotel had had it’s windows smashed the day before so we didn’t feel safe there. According to a local 2 people died here on Friday on the bridge after clashes between the rioters and the police. There was a curfew imposed on the city starting at 19:30. We didn’t notice much of this until our friend told us. Stay safe!

- for one room we paid 5000 SDG
- Adef is the manager and a very funny and friendly guy. Speaks good English!
- rooms are not clean, especially the showers

Report Check-In

5000 SDP a night for a room for two. Manager spoke decent English. Smells like smoke and a little dirty, but it was late and it was one-fourth the price of the weird government-owned hotel so we took it.

Report Check-In

Arrived at the doorstep but it is apparently no longer a hotel or at least not for tourists. Could not stay.

Report Check-In

Price is now 350 for a double. Couldn't negotiate any lower. Significantly nicer than any other options in town though.

The guy running the place speaks the best English of any of the hotels in town though, great for information on getting to sites around Dongola.

Shower/water was temperamental during our stay, only worked about half the time we tried it.

Report Check-In

250 for double room with AC and slow wifi. Shower and toilet inside. Owner is nice and helpful. He said 300 but we made it 250. Parked Bikes in front of the room. Cold drinkable water machine in the yard. 600m to the market that you can buy any vege and meat and fruits. No public fridge but owner has his Own fridge and he let us use it.
Currently Sudan is very safe , no protest and gun shooting around. Sim Internet was shut down for a month but recovered already.
Bed shirts are always dirty in sudan and Egypt. We always ask them to get a new one or we washed them by ourself.

Report Check-In

good place. cheap simple rooms for 250 Sudan pounds. Motorcycle can Park inside. friendly Owner.

This is not Olla hotel. This is an other hotel in Dongola. See my other review.

Clean and basic hotel in Dongola. We payed 300 SP for a double room. The beds are not really comfortable but the room is air conditioned. There was no WiFi.

Report Check-In

one of the more expensive options around (400sdg/room/night), but it's nice after a couple of hot desert days. ac/fan and fridge in room. bathrooms are clean and staff is okay. wifi is slow but works.
