Easy to miss off the road, this is a good place to stay one night. Its the original Tioga road. No amenities and only really good for one night. Better to be in a vehicle but if you are in a jam you can use a tent or hammock. PLEASE do not leave any trash or have a fire here! Its a great location we want everyone to enjoy!

Very nice spot! BE CAREFUL, this entrance of the park closes after the first snowstorm. We went there around 5pm, cooked, chilled and slept. Woke up and were locked in between 2 gates!!! They escorted everyone out at 5:30, we didn’t notice and locked the gates. We had to call the rangers to come and unlock one of them for us. This entrance was closed until the month of May. We had to go around the park for a 6h drive to get in the park.
But the spot is very nice! I recommend.
Still a great spot especially if you pull in at night for an early morning Yosemite from the east. We arrived after dark with plenty of room left, but soon got surrounded by many vehicles. Hardly any traffic, river sound is great and drowns out the neighbors. First bit of road looks rough but after that there is old paved ground. closer to the river is most level.
Report Check-InGreat spot right after the bend in the road river was nice too. There are spots all along the road but be careful of rockfall. Additionally you could park right outside the Yosemite gate if you wanted a closer but more crowded option.
Report Check-InTwo big pullouts. We hung three hammocks across the highway and slept like babies. Arrived at night and woke up to a nice view.
Report Check-Inthe place is at 9000 feet so can get cold. it is right on your right hand side coming down from the pass after ellery lake dam.
Report Check-InAwesome place to spend the night, perfect for who goes to Yosemite. Totally free!
Report Check-InThere are two larger areas connected by the old road, each can take 5-7 vehicles. The old road winds further down after the second large area, thus there is space for a total of 10-15 vehicles. Nice views from the edge of the second area. Wide trucks can enter the first area but probably not the other ones because of big boulders. We were here on a Saturday evening, and there were around 10 vehicles in total. I can recommend this place to stay one night.
