Something not right?

Description

We were lucky to meet someone in town who directed us here. Although the site was closed they were happy to let us stay, so we did, for four nights. 350 pesos a night with electric hookup. We don't normally use hookup but we were more than happy to pay the extra to have the aircon on.
The shrubbery makes this a beautiful campground which is right on the beach. In season surf, boogie and SUP boards can be rented.
There is WiFi and the showers are hot.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY: yes, the location is fairly unmatched as the rv park is located right next to the beach. That is what you are paying for. I’m not a spoiled Vanlifer by any means BUT the old man who runs this place is overcharging because of the location. We paid $550 for our sprinter van and two people. We didn’t use any hookups. The condition of the bathrooms was totally unacceptable considering the price. No toilet paper in any of the stalls, nothing looked like it had been cleaned in months, the shower heads were all rusty. The bathroom looked like something that had been abandoned. There is an unmarked motion sensor light at the entrance but no sign informing me that it would come on and no indication of where the other light switch was located. I had to track down the security guy to help me. Otherwise I would not have been able to see my way to the shower. This morning when I went to ask the owner for a roll of toilet paper his wife peered out from her window with such a look of fear on her face that she must of thought that I, in my pink PJs, was going to assault her!

I RARELY leave a negative review because I’m pretty easy to please but I get really annoyed when I’m ripped off.

Other than that the actual grounds are quite lovely. Lots of tropical birds sounds in the morning to accompany the sound of the waves crashing at the beach!

Great park, bathrooms are good. A little pub/pizza joint in the campground very close to the beach. Staff is amazing and the food is great. Good music on Friday and Saturday that doesn't run past 9 o'clock. Very grassy area no dust was nice. 30 amp that seem to work pretty good. The most challenging thing was driving the 40 foot Tiffin through the streets of the little town to get to our site. Whatever you do try to drive or walk in to see your route. You definitely need patience and someone behind you as sometimes you have to do three and four point turns.

we were on the beach, we pass by the beach to meet the owner and ask him if he had a place for us. he just said no, but we saw many place empty.
but when we left to go back by the beach he was rude and said to us we were on a private property and we had to leave by the gate nake feet in the streets.
we just took off by the beach.
we will never be client of this place crowded .

Report Check-In

Stayed for a week over christmas. 500 pesos/night with full hook up and slow wifi. Owner is a funny and friendly guy. Bathrooms were absolutely useable but not ultra clean. Direct beach access and good restaurant with delicious pizza at the campground. Would go here again

Report Check-In

This is the worst RV park we have stayed in, the owners obviously just don’t care as they are fully booked in busy season anyway. The bathrooms were disgusting. Gardens overgrown and messy. At a price of 500pesos/night your not really getting anything for your money.

Report Check-In

nice place, super beach, but nobody cleans it. very bad WiFi (the camp was empty!). very expensive: 500 Pesos high, 450 Low Season.
For that price you can already expect toilet paper available, but it is not.
The bathrooms are very very old and dirty. Nobody cleaned the sink, showers and bottom while our 1 week stay. For the owner it's more important to install a handful of webcams as to clean the Bathrooms and the beach. In the other RV park EL CARACOL they clean the bathrooms every 2 hours and the beach and the whole area daily. and Caracol is cheaper, but you must reservate it, because much smaller.

Been here for one month
Great beach
Access
And really nice other campers
But the place is falling apart and has old electric and old plumbing connections
Showers are warm
Electric goes off regularly
WiFi rarely works

Music in Tomatinas (the restaurant that is run by the owners kids and is right in the park) is nice Fridays and absolute hell on other days
Wednesday is heavy metal night and it is torture for the whole area
If you have dogs you have to watch them closely or have on leash because owners cats roam the property

Take the owner with a grain of salt
Not an
Up front person

Report Check-In

Good RV Park. 500p for 2P and a camper. Toilets and showers are clean. Excellent access to the beach. Really good food in tomatina restaurant.

Report Check-In

500mxp per night. The guy who runs it, is a little sneaky, and rude. Caught him a couple of times sneaking around our van looking very suspicious and spoke to us rudely a number of times. Not sure what his problem was?
He also said and particularly pointed out the wifi router that it was a good connection, in which it never worked in the 5 days we were there and after talking to other people in the park, sounds like the wifi is non-existent.

Report Check-In

has black and grey water dump at each site. Purified water available for sale 25p for 5 gallons at office.

I would like to share with all of you that the place is great!! Big enough, all the services, shower, restrooms, wifi, electricity, restaurant, easy access to the beach and finally, Don Juan is an excellent host.

Report Check-In

It is a very nice and clean place. We arrived at saturday and the campground was full. But Juan find for us a spot because we dont need hookups. We payd 700 pesos for 2 nights. It is a good price for this area, we look before at an other place in the same road, and they ask 600! pesos for one night. Juan is a very nice Guy and we have a lot of fun with him.

Report Check-In

Dude had immediate car salesman vibes. Kept talking over us and had a weird arrogant way to him. We arrived later in the day (around 1600) and he wanted to charge us 400p to park there for one night! We are only a truck, not an RV or anything fancy. We went to Pretty Sunset instead.

Report Check-In

Great place, great host and owner Juan stayed 4 nights at 400 MX | night plus electricity 100mx used. A little pricier than I expected, Juan wouldn't tell me rate till we left. That's part of his sense of humour which he has lots!

Report Check-In

Just one of the trailerparks here. It has grass with concrete places. Internet is very weak. Bathrooms are good.
Beach is OK, but not special.
The little town is nice and within walking distance.
Price 400p.

Report Check-In

we stayed there for one night and paid 400mx with full hook up. Tipical US style campground full of canadian and US trailers stayng there for six months. The manager (owner?) was not nice at all and arrogant with us and we dont know why. We would never stay there again, there are more similar RV parks around. We left the campground at noon and move to a spot near basketball court in front of the church (we added it on ioverlander)
