Small rec area west of I-19. There is a pay camp ground ($10$ or you can find some good spot in the hills surrounding. Good swimming hole to escape the heat before or after crossing boarder. No service, the stars provide the entertainment.

Back again. Still very nice. 3 other Overlanders. Lots of Border Patrol activity.
The back road between here and Arivaca has several Minor water crossings. Perhaps they become Major after a rain?
Report Check-InThis place is in the wrong location! This is a trailhead parking with no camping sign. The small campground is a bit further down the road on the left side. 15 $, nothing special, only 5 sites, pit toilet. Surprisingly much traffic, beside that quiet, if nobody runs a generator, no cell service.
Report Check-InVery nice. Contrary to a previous post, bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The info kiosk says $10 a night, but no self pay envelopes. And the Nogales info centre says Free. I didn't pay. One other camper.
Report Check-InThe campground does not have water. Bathrooms not very clean. No cell signal. I’ve seen way better campgrounds of the NFS.
Report Check-InBe aware that the Red Rock Picnic Area has multiple No Camping Signs. There were no toilet on this side of the lake; they are on the other side. We stayed there without any problem. The site is beautiful and has an overlook on the lake and the hillls surrounding it. We didn’t found the campground area.
