Thank the deadbeats for living here year-round and getting it shut down. Now the locals can’t even bring their horses here for a day of riding.
Report Check-InThis place might be closed, but there are a lot of sketchy people here. when you see trailers here, just drive on by....it's bad.
Report Check-InI'm here right now and there's a TON of people, some look like they're living here. But there's still a sign posted at the front 14 day camping limit so I'm staying the night
Report Check-Inwe have been camping here for 3 days and the sheriff just came through today and told everyone that this area is closed for camping effective today. it will be closed for the next three years. everything near the bulldog canyon area will be closed. they said there is still camping further up the road toward tortilla flats
Report Check-Inknew it would be small but wow so tiny and very uneven, weird parking. we didn't stay it was pretty packed. recommend another spot back down the road, turn on Hackamore rd and there's much more spots and more private down that way (2 spots marked on ioverlander on hackamore rd)
also no service which we needed to get some work done. but hackamore rd has full bars of service
Also called Horse Trail Trailhead on Google I think. Free camping for 14 days max, no amenities, some firepits around. not very level in places. Signal depends on where you are. Any where from no signal to about 4 bars on TMobile. If you have starlink, that'll work great. During the week it's not too packed, but toward the weekend it gets a more crowded.
Report Check-InThanksgiving 2020. dozen campers or or so but still room. half the area is right under the power lines which I always find creepy. get LTE cell service with my google fi. generators running. this is a spot for the sociable, not a quiet wilderness retreat.
Report Check-InArrived around Noon on a Sunday. It was pretty packed, but after 2pm, only a couple vehicles were left. Quiet & safe, but you can hear traffic from 88.
Gorgeous view of Superstition Mountains!
Lots of trash & bees. Mostly uneven but there are some leveled spots.
A big spot close to Lost dutchmen. Many people camp here but it is nice and quiet. Beautiful views.
No amenities
No T-mobile service.
Free dispersed camping for max stay of 14 days in the National Forest. Very busy spot. It’s a bumpy road with unlevel sites but is manageable.
Report Check-InLots of flat spaces. Pretty crowded. I felt safe. Very near lost Dutchman park and it’s in a nice and convenient area to Phoenix and the superstitions
Report Check-InStayed two weeks in motorhome. Great views, generally pretty quiet and always felt safe. Paid for a yearly state park pass and used the facilities at nearby Lost Dutchman State Park. Would stay again
Report Check-InBoondocking spot just at the beginning of the Apache trail road. Good spot but there was a lot a people on the Monday night including some long term resident. But ok for one night.
Report Check-InThis place was packed with RVs and tents when we came on a Monday night so we decided not to stay here. The area isn't very big so with lots of other campers, there is very little privacy. Lots of other, quieter options if you continue down Apache Trail.
Report Check-InFree campsite, great views, no amenities, Close to Phoenix.
