Latest Check-Ins

Blue icebergs and Glaciar Grey in the distance.
We started at 7:30 am and have been totally alone. When we came back and crossed the sand bridge there were more then 100 people and continuously coming more and more.

The god thing for hikers is, that 90% of these people are going to the catamaran which starts at the end of the sandy crossing. Otherswise you would really get problems on the very narrow track to the Glaciar Grey mirador on the island.
Nevertheless it was nice to be alone at the beach so avoid the mass of people and start early.

Report Check-In

The walk to the first view of the Gray Glacier begins with 10 minutes in the forest, then descends into the bed of the lake which looks like a sandy and pebble beach. Very exposed to the wind and very variable weather, watch out for showers, plan what to cover. From the beach we saw a big and beautiful blue iceberg. Going to the end of the beach (20 min walk) you can see the Gray Glacier at the end of the lake and if you want a better view, you have to continue the 10-minute walk on Ice Island. It's worth the detour especially to see the iceberg because the glacier is quite far and if the weather is bad you will not see it.

Easy hike to see the glacier and its icebergs, almost flat all the way. You follow the beach and go up on the "island" to have a good view (1 hour to the Mirador), all the trail is accessible now. Big iceberg when we were there and a lot of small ones. Magical with the sun...

Report Check-In

After 15 minutes walking we reached the beach and there was a sign including ropes that said ‘not continue’. Little enjoying that they didn’t mentioned it at the beginning.

Report Check-In

Today it was open just for like 1km (until the sand “bridge” that links the coast with the island) because the water level was too high and was covering the sand bridge. Views were still nice though.

Report Check-In

Very nice walk with greats views on the iceberg, the glacier and the mountains. 2 hours round trip. But very touristy. Do the long tour to avoid all the tourist after the Mirador where they all stop.

Report Check-In

The bridge was open today; nice short hike.
