Still open and still a good stop. We toured the museum in the morning. FYI highway 45 from the south is really rough… pavement is disintegrating. Leave yourself lots of time to do the drive. Slow going almost resulted in us arriving in the dark.

Second time we stay there. Night was pretty noisy because of dogs barking after coyotes.

Very quiet place with friendly villagers

We had a really nice night here. We parked in front of the closed museum and every single local that drove by gave us a nice wave. Two came over to chat and offered us beer and one let us know where he lived in case we needed anything.
We toured the museum in the morning and left a 50 peso tip. Watch out for the guard goose and also the 4 free range horses that may come for a visit.
A very quiet and safe night and a good place to stop for a sleep.
Lots of room for large rigs and even some grassy areas for a tent

A single room is now 400. Reception said no WIFI even though my device found a hotel network. Stayed anyway but in the van in the parking lot. With reception's permission,.No issues. A good sleep.

Overnight parking at the paved parking lot of Hazienda de Pancho Villa in Cantunillo. Relatively quiet on Saturday night, only a few cars passed by. Ok for a stopover.

Great little museum. There aren't a lot of artifacts, but really nice pictures of Pancho Villa with captions in Spanish and English (poorly translated but still mostly understandable). The guy who runs it is super nice. He didn't speak English but we were able to communicate with our limited Spanish. We asked how much the museum was after we were done looking at everything - he said whatever you like so we have him 100 pesos.

He let us spend the night in a grassy area next to the parking lot. We had no problems.

I don't think the museum gets many visitors but it is worth a little detour!
