Nice place near the lake.
But some people in the late night kept us awake because of talking and drinking beer.

confirmed it is for day use only. At least during High Season. At 22.00 hrs police summoned us and the other dozen campers to leave and overnight at the YPF at the entrance of El Calafate

the car park next to the el calafate sign is authorized for parking motorhomes and caravans only during the day. overnight parking is prohibited. there are two signs at the entrance which authorize parking for motorhomes and caravans but do not specify that it is only during the day. we had a quiet night there, but the second night the police asked us to leave and park at the bus terminal.

le parking à côté du panneau el calafate est autorisé pour le stationnement de camping car et caravane seulement de jour. la nuit le stationnement est interdit. il y a deux panneaux à l’entrée qui autorise le stationnement pour camping car et caravane mais ne précise pas que c’est seulement de jour. nous avons passé une nuit tranquille là, mais la seconde nuit la police nous a demandé de partir et de stationner au terminal des bus.

We spent 3 quiet nights here. Just, please don't discard red and black waters in this region! Reserve with environmental protection! I know that there is a lot of movement in this spot on behalf of the CALAFATE letters Late afternoon at night cars and people take photos. I suggest you use other parking lots along the waterfront.

Passamos 3 noites tranquilas aqui. Apenas, por favor não descartem águas cinzas e negras nessa região! Reserva com proteção ambiental! E saibam que há muito movimento nesse spot por conta do letreiro CALAFATE. Até tarde da noite carros e pessoas vem fazer fotos. Sugiro parae nos outros estacionamentos ao longo da costanera.

Nice place to spend the night, good views and with other Overlanders/Campers so it feels safe. However.....it is very noisy!!! Someone was playing music until 4am from a car parked by everyone and another car pulled up by us with a broken engine, the sound was terrible...even with earplugs it reverberated through the van. He finally left around 5am...sketchy and made for a really really bad sleep. It was only a Thursday too! If you're a woman, invest in a stand up and pee device for situations like this, as it is very lit and no privacy to pee. But if you can manage a quiet night, it is a lovely location and enroute to the glacier.

Spent two nights here amongst 10 or twelve other overlanders. Very famous spot. Safe and walkable distance to city center.

Flat and paved. 6 other overlanders here when we were. Great for kids as good adventure playground.

Nice place, noisy in the evening but not at night. Not suitable for tents. Do not use the water from the lake as there are ducks and a sewage nearby.

No problems with this spot. Just a small parking area by the lake, paralelel to the main Av. A few locals until midnight, no big deal. 3 other cars standing the night.

Great for a night in a motorhome/campervan. It is right by the water where a the flamingos are. There are no facilities, just a few bushes for emeegencies. We were lucky and didn't catch a lot of wind or cold, but it is usually windy.

Nice spot. Level. 3:00 in morning people came and sat on the wall with car doors open and radio playing loudly but left after awhile. Earplugs kept the noise out. In the morning several tour buses came for a short time as people piled out.

Stayed here for two nights, only overlanders there. Nice view of lake with tonnes of flamingoes. Perfectly level, lots of space, 20 minute walk into town. Bit of broken glass. Wasn't noisy for us but can imagine it's a drinking spot at weekends. No facilities and free.

Views r good. Black neck swans, flamingoes flew in the morning, plenty of ducks etc. Only watchout it was noisy on Saturday night too many cars passing by till 3 am. It got quiet only after that.

Pretty spot not far from town but away from the main road. Many lights all around the parking during the night. Otherwise good location.
