Parking lot (not leveled everywhere) on I-70 westbound 1/2 mile prior to exit 227 Westwater.
Short steep trail leading to outlook with great view of open plains and mountains. Good AT&T signal.

We had a very quiet night here. One of the toilets was clean and the other one wasn't.
Felt safe, and the noise is minimal as you're covered from the highway and there is not much traffic at night.
Trucks are idling at the end of the rest area, so if you stay a bit closer from the toilets, they won't bother you that much 😉
Nice spot, some trucks are coming in over night but keep their motors on.
Can't recommend the restrooms!
gorgeous view area, big trucks park here too so there is engine noise, great verizon LTE service
Report Check-InThis is actually Harley's Dome view area. A great spot for the night, hidden from the highway. Lots of space. Toilets available too. Semi trucks come and go in the night so earplugs are helpful. Walking up to the viewpoint is a great thing to do in the morning before heading out.
Report Check-InIt works for a quick overnight, but semis take over. I parked at the west end of the lot, in the car spots, no other cars there, two semis in the semi spots. Woke up at 2am with a semi in the car spots, 8 feet from my Jeep, idling all night with lights on.
