Beautiful views and mostly quiet at night. There are multiple pull outs on this road. These spots have been a rare boondocking gem for years. There are still no signs. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL.
Don't set up a camp, this is a boondocking spot. Be subtle and quiet. NO RVs/big rigs - please be as stealthy as possible.
Local ethics ask that you park with the expectation that the lot will FILL entirely at night. This is a popular place. Please don't stay more than a night or two, and leave during the day. š
DO NOT POOP on the ground or anywhere outside ever. There are literal piles of human waste at every pullout on this road.
Please keep this place pristine and relatively hidden. This place is close to being lost because of bad nomad and traveler behavior.
Why? By checking in after youāve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed here one night great views. Four others here as well. Cars and trains passing in the night. Not a good spot for light sleepers but would stay again.
Report Check-InPretty location at the top of a bluff overlooking the sound with amazing sunset views. There's an "around the tree" spot on the south end probably suitable for up to 25', but otherwise the rest of the area should be vans or smaller. Park head-in or back in for most of the area. If you're in a van or something otherwise too long to back in, consider parallel parking at the north end to give smaller vehicles space in the center. This location does fill up completely during peak season, so make room for people. (On this particular Thursday evening during off season, people would pull in for a few minutes at a time throughout the afternoon and evening, but we were the only ones who stayed overnight.)
Railroad tracks run at the bottom of the bluff; expect several trains to pass through during the evening. The area can also be noisy until around midnight. Cell coverage is variable; it can be sufficient for streaming one hour and then drop you the next. No facilities. Please pack out your trash.
Report Check-InBeautiful sunsets. Met a couple from Switzerland sharing the spot and we drank some wine and chatted the night away.
I have seen people walking to the trees to relieve themselves. Please, letās keep this gem clean.
Also, leave. Come back if needed. But go to town, Larrabee park (showers), or elsewhere. This is a spot I donāt want us to lose.
Report Check-Inas advertised. view is nice but between the diesel train below, racing cars, and overpowered truck it's def not quiet. more of a picnic spot than someplace I'd sleep again
Report Check-Inbeautiful spot for boondocking, especially the sunset is spectacular. We picked up some oysters at Taylor's and hiked oyster dome the next day.
Report Check-InBusy but quiet. Super shady ātrailā to the south that goes down to shore/railroad - I would advise not to do it because almost impossible to get back up.
Report Check-InOverlook pull off. Felt safe and was clean. Gets very busy for sunset and lot of overnighters on weekendāwe were packed in for the night! Larrabee state park near by has bathrooms and coin op showers (if you pay entrance feeābut beautiful park!)
Report Check-InBusy but quiet, a lot a free spots when we arrived at 5pm then crowed for the sunset.
Report Check-InGreat spot to pull of drive. Road noise, but not bad. Terrific views. Keep it clean!
Even one spot around a tree but someone was already there.
Report Check-InAs described, great view and pretty quiet once it gets dark. No issues here.
Report Check-InIf you have to poo, have compostable plastic bags with you. Double bag your poo and take it to the closest garbage can and dump it there. Or have a showel handy. U know what to do.
Report Check-Inshowed up late but still got to squeeze in. Super quiet, one train came by but no horn. definitely good for at least a night.
Report Check-InI stayed here last night and would stay again. I never left my van so I canāt comment on the grounds. One car came into the parking lot at 1:30AM and had their headlights shined at the front of my van for a few minutes before leaving. In the morning before sunrise one car drove past honking their horn. The view was lovely and I will use this spot again as a stopover.
Report Check-InPlease stop pooping in camps! š¤®š©
I've been here many times and it keeps getting worse.
PLEASE don't set up a camp, don't poop on the ground, and don't leave your trash.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Beautiful Sunset. Close to road and train. Train is comfort as I grew up with the distant sound of the train.
Report Check-InAbout 5 other cars spent the night. No issues no signs saying you canāt park. Lovely spot
Report Check-InLovely. Best overlook in the area. Plenty of space, great views, and least noisy road noise (windy road = slower vehicles = less noise).
Report Check-InLocal ethics are to park straight in rather than horizontal to the views. Other people want to sleep here too š¤
Report Check-InWas skeptical because itās on a decently main road and figured we wouldnāt be allowed to stay but wow. This place was beautiful. Tons of awesome rigs came through and many stayed the night. Amazing place to watch the sunset and take photos. We stayed 3 nights no issues. Good cell service! Please be courteous with how you park so others can enjoy the area as well.
Report Check-Innice spot. great view. we came late because we we're looking for biolumicent in the sea at teddy bear cove, just 10min down the road.
Report Check-InNice viewpoint, lots of camper vans staying here. Thereās train tracks at the bottom and a few trains went through, and people revving their cars around the bends at night. But if a little noise doesnāt bug you, itās a great spot! Cheers
Report Check-InStayed a couple of nights here. Beautiful view, but definitely a busy spot in the evenings. Quiets down after sunset, except for the train but itās below the lookout and isnāt too loud. Youāll wake up surrounded by a least a couple camper vans.
Report Check-InNice spot, but pretty active as others have noted. Beautiful sunset. Train below going strong till around 11 I think, winding road a periodic racetrack till dusk (on a Tuesday). Nobody bothered me. Two other vans when I woke up.
Report Check-InGood place to stay one night. I was there on a Saturday night and it did fill up and was noisy as cars drove by. A few partiers came by. Obviously, no bathroom or water available or even a trash can.
Also, if this is full, there are similar sites up and down this road. One we passed north of here even had a couple of picnic tables.
Great views but VERY noisy hopefully just on this particular night as it appears this is where locals congregate with their hot rods before racing off. This went on well past dark. Maybe avoid Saturday nights? Other than this it is a great spot to sleep, and I woke up to about 10 cars/vans here.
Report Check-InRemarkable place to watch sunset and comfortable for sleeping. A handful of other rigs stayed as well. Road noise quiets down after sunset (summer). 2 bars Verizon LTE.
Report Check-InSpectacular view at this lookout. Shared with many other campers and people stopping to take on the view. Saw some oyster spots to eat at down the way, Iām sure they are delicious.
Report Check-InGreat view, lots of space for cars. No overnight parking prohibited signs, have at it
Report Check-InNice pull out on the side of the road. Camped here with two other vehicles without issue.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot to catch the sunset and for one night sleep. Itās just a turn out off the side of the road with an insane view of the ocean. Minimal traffic throughout the night. Got a pretty decent nights sleep. No signs prohibiting overnight stays. Thereās somewhat of a trail that leads to the ocean but take my word for it, itās quite steep and dangerous so if you do it, use extreme caution. Would and will stay again!
Report Check-InGreat spot to view the water from high up in the woods. Picnic tables available and hiking trails nearby.
Report Check-InStayed one night, arrived around 6:00 and there were already 3 camper vans and 1 SUV. We were in a 24' Class C motorhome and fit fine. Train and Chuckanut traffic noise stopped after 9:30. Walked the dogs next morning and there were a few more camper vans and other cars parked for the night. This pull out will fit 10 or 12 depending on size. Good cell signal, but no view for us because of heavy smoke from forest fires.
Report Check-InStayed for 3 nights while passing though town. Good cell service, and beautiful views at sunset. Handful of other vans every night in this pull off and others on Chuckanut Rd.
Report Check-InGood spot with a great view! No signs prohibiting over night parking. Itās a paved pull off on the main road, so will hear the cars going by. Thereās also a train that goes by down near the water. Stayed one night with no problems.
Report Check-InSuch a great spot!! Great views and wonderful sunset! Had 3 others stay the night. Mostly quiet with a few cars driving by at night.
Report Check-InGood spot, stayed a couple nights. Got crowded after dusk, maybe 6 rigs. still no problems.
Report Check-InGreat spot to watch sunset. We stayed here for one night along with four other cars/campers. Would recommend this spot, although be aware it's rather busy and noisy with other people driving along the road and stopping to take in the view/playing music.
Report Check-InA fantastic spot, perfect view at sunset šš»
Please take care of this spot so it stays open.
few van and rv at this place. maybe try the next viewpoint to tne north. nice view and sunset
Report Check-InQuiet. Good views. Workable Verizon LTE signal. Fairly level. Best for self contained small vehicles, not large RVs
Report Check-InThis place is a beautiful quiet spot. Myself and two others were parked here. No lights and moderate traffic through out the night. I could see this being a more popular spot on weekends and in the summer time.
Report Check-InA bit busy before dusk, which you have to expect from this kind of of place. Cars coming in and out, music playing and of course some people like to rev their cars around. But it became super quiet once it got dark and I had a great night of sleep. Saw a few more pull outs and parkings when I left in the morning so you could probably find less crowded spots if you wish.
Report Check-InGood spot, nice view of the inlet. Relatively quiet, but local rednecks race their cars through the woods. (Saturday night) other than that very little traffic.
Report Check-InBeautiful location. Few people driving through to look at the views, our van (170ā wb) fit ok but was a little long for a few of the spots.
Report Check-InItās a gravel viewpoint area not near anything and quite dark. Arrived at 8.30pm and there was no one there. Seemed reasonably safe to stay (as a female solo). Was quiet except for a few trains through out the night and also a car came with loud music, not sure what time it was but I was asleep. No one disturbed me. Beautiful place to wake up to in the morning, I can only imaging the sunset would be spectacular. The actual road to get there is very narrow and windy (hence why big vehicles arenāt recommended). Was a nice alternative to the freeway.
Report Check-InAmazing views from this spot. About 5 other vehicles came and parked throughout the night. Plus the sound of an occasional motorcycle or tuner car overnight. Worth it for the view.
Report Check-InAmazing views! Can be crowded at sunset. Get here well before or after to get a spot. Road up is narrow and not too suitable for wider rigs. Several campervans here, and weāre in a 24ā truck camper.
Report Check-InOne of many large lay-bys on the road with incredible views.
Report Check-InBeautiful views and absolutely marvelous sunset. Nice option as most other sites at Larrabee Park either close at dusk or require a fee. Close to the street (scenic drive) but quiet at night. There was just one 24ft RV parked when we arrived at dusk early Oct. Not suitable for huge rigs >24ft. No signs of no overnight camping. We stayed one night and no one bothered us. There are loads of trails in and around Larrabee Park.
